I WANT TO BE MALE RANGER AND WITCH

Some people in this thread seeming mighty insecure...

on-topic I want to play a female marauder I think this is in the same category
I find such issues really ridiculous :)

I don't want to play a female char because that will question my masculinity

I don't want to wear that silk dress, despite the awesome stats, because I don't look good in violet

Wands are for girls

lol,.. its a role playing game! Get into the role :)
When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness
insecure?

I myself do not play females because i am not attracted to them. however if i am given a choice of a class that is female only i will play her.

(the females have to be VERY awesome for me to pick them if i am given a choice between the two)

not insecure it is just my preference <3

It won't be a microtransaction ever, because it IS so time consuming.

If they can add maybe another animator the the staff, they will consider this option and maybe rework animatons or add the character models.

However, if they decide to do that (probably not 2013^^), it will be accessible for everyone.

Why would it be available to everyone if it's so time consuming? So they can get no money for their efforts?

If you go back and listen to some of the interviews, or Q&A's - this has been mentioned before, and it was mentioned as a microtransaction.

Creating new character models may be the most time consuming thing that you can do in a game like this, as all armor types and animations would need to be reworked to fit the new model.

While it would be nice to see this as possibly a microtransaction in the future, it IS a lot of work.

I truly believe GGG currently has it wrong.

The easier solution, which I think makes an infinite amount of sense, would be to let people choose their model (which would now either represent a race, nationality, etc... or a specific character with a name) and then choose their class (the starting position).

Why? They already have all of the animations and models handled for all types of weapons and skills in the game.

This essentially solves the majority of the problems people have. In a game that emphasizes choice and flexibility, I don't understand why models are locked to specific classes as it is. It makes sense in a traditional game like Diablo 2, but not in Path of Exile, where everyone can do everything everyone else can.

Of course, that doesn't satisfy the people who actually want more character model variation, but that's a different issue.
Also I never heard of any male witches (theres a "witcher" somewhere, but that's entirely different).

Witches are exclusively female. (and thus I think the name of the class would have to be changed, if they introduce a male version).

oh that is a good idea.. bad for me--- then all my classes would be the Shadow guy haha!
when i first started this game that character screen reminded me of divine divinity.
you had three males and three females to choose from. however it was male and female sets of each class.( rouge type. warrior type. and mage type)

i played a male and a female in that game. same class.

morbo ---- they would have to change the Witch to a Warlock then.. or rename them Mage.

I think people need to back off a bit. The OP did not ask if it was a lot of work, nor did they need a bunch of random internet people accusing them of being insecure. It is a preference, a very common one, that many many games provide for. Asking for the feature no more proves that the OP is insecure than asking for ice cream proves you are fat. Even if it is a lot of work, what about game design is easy, or fast for that matter. I do not see this request being filled quickly, but I see it as legitimate post that shouldn't be thrown aside simply because it is not YOUR priority.

On a side note, think before you post, what do you want the community to be? There are already plenty of troll filled hate pots out there. Be kind, rewind.
