Portal GEM is fricking leet pro GGG

It's one of those items where I'd like to have one, but don't want to spend the money on.

So, if I find one myself (likely since I can't stop playing this game) I will hold onto it and never sell it.

I badly want one of these, but I have set myself a personal challenge to play the game without trading. :(

It would let me indulge in my favourite past-time of picking up and selling every single item that drops. Always.

This will probably not save you from emergency situations, Portal gem has a 1 second cast time while scrolls instantly opens the portal. Not many people know this, I only found this out from people who used it in higher difficulties. Majority of them said the same thing.

This will mostly cost a lot, so it would be best to sell it. People are unaware of it's downsides in higher difficulties.

I got one and died. I didn't want to leave it in Default, so now it is lost forever! I'm still kinda sad since i loved the animation with my duelist.

Complete waste, sell it for massive profits.

I love how valuable these little things are, yet how useless. It's only real use is for a new character on a new ladder for about 10 minutes before TP scrolls become plentiful (which means it's only real use is during races if you get it to drop in the first minute of the race). It wastes a gem slot, it wastes a hot key, it has a cast time and it replicates an item that is so plentiful you will soon not even pick them up off the ground anymore.

I can understand the attraction though, despite all the down sides. I hope people continue to pay a fortune for them, because right now every time one drops I know I can trade it for a lot.

So what if there's a cast time? You can use TP like old-school Doom save spots. New room? Pop a portal before entering. Want to pick up every single white you see? Pop a portal as needed. I'd like one.
