Why do people feel compelled to RMT?

Farming IRL (Job) > farming in game.
Scenario:
Avg age group that plays Poe probably 18- mid to late 20s.
Seeing a few of the forum replies and nifty codes written to improve game play, safe assumption can be made that there are a good about of nerds with nerd jobs (engineers) that often pay salaries of about 90k starting. Which is ~45 $ an hour. Going to work = 40 exalts an hour to check POE forums.

Save yourselves some tears and stop qqing about RMT.
Its going to happen no matter what as long as the chinese can bot.

The Real ? is why do people care so much aboot what other people do with their money. It doesn't effect your enjoyment of the game at all. Just continue grinding your gear. Bob spending 200$ to get gear, wont effect me at all.

you asked why they do it, so I asked why should you or anyone else care. What someone does with their money is not any business to you. My response is just as relevant as your original ?...........................................

If you do RMT to get some ultimate item, you will get bored, and quit the game the next week. If you are doing it to get some respecs, and try a new build, that's better. But you really just ruining your own enjoyment, by taking the challenge out of the game.

Though personally against RMT, I believe people have a right to spend their money how they want. If you feel the need to protect the anctity of the TOS - Go join a law firm and help enforce contract law pro bono if that's your life's mission. Start with illegal file sharing, musical copyright infringement, which is far less of a legal grey area.

Nerds with 'nerd jobs' make all these video games that are suppose to be 'free' Of course, their kids dont need to eat, and they dont have rent to pay. And I'm sure poor chinese would rather starve than interfere with your video game experience. So maybe you know, call the chinese ambassador. Lol.

It's the same question as why do people play standard vs hardcore. For some people, the game is about challenge. Those people are likely to play hardcore and not rmt. For others, the game is about farming, or experiencing the endgame, or playing with friends, etc. If those things are what bring you enjoyment, you're going to play the way that allows you to do what you like the most, regardless of what that does to the challenge level. Why would someone play standard? They enjoy another aspect of the game more than being challenged. Same thing only slightly more extreme for rmters.

I dont understand ppl who RMT one bit. You have to have a Goal and work for it. In life, do you get big muscles, lots of cash and a Girl without any effort. u dont.

More dollars than sense.

They have enough disposable income it is of no consequence to them.

since playing the game is 0% rewarding :)
