Corrupting items can reroll the mods. Wtf?
" He's links a re-rolled item and it's trash and has nothing unique. He does say there's interesting things that can happen, but in this case it's just vendor trash, I don't think I'll be risking that on high end gear, maybe leveling but ya. IGN @TiznaraN

So, I actually think this is a very good thing. But you need to look at Vaals from a broad perspective to understand why. I wrote a post explaining why item rerolling and therefore Vaals will be good for the overall economy here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/548056/page/3#p7021923

Layering system after system on top of each other like this is going to quickly become very frustrating for your average player. I hope it isn't a full reroll of affixes.
To explain why, in a design sense, I'll give you the use cases of this orb. 1) You've got an item that is very good already and want to give it a good Vaal mod. You have an Eternal and pray to RNGesus your currency, insanely valuable as this orb will be, isn't wasted. No one is going to use a Vaal on this without an Eternal unless they're stupid. This is obvious to anyone who knows how the orb works. Eternals, already extremely expensive, get more valuable. Vaals are rarely, if ever, used on good items without the backing of a wealthy player. The item is now a high-end luxury for already-wealthy players. Rich get richer, etc. 2) You're crafting an item. You've probably already got a ton of currency, anyway; go back to use case 1. 3) Unique items. Here is where the vast majority of orbs will go. Most people have access to the good uniques (not the god uniques, but those are expensive, just a subset of 1.) The good uniques are now better. Depending on how good the mods are, some uniques could be better, the bar for a 'good' rare could be raised, uniques could be even more ubiquitous past a certain level.... A lot of this depends on how rare the orb will be, how good the mods will be, and how often the good mods will show up. If it's comparable to Exalts/Eternals, prepare for an even more top-heavy economy, an even higher aversion to using currency, and, probably regardless of how these turn out, more players whining. Ancient and unwise, SSF only since 2012

What would you think if the Vaal Orb had similar odds to the Orb of Chance?
That is odds for getting something useful. Mark my words. Vaal Orb = Orb of Chance = Crap 99% of the rolls. |

" Chris said it's going to havea droprate similar to chaos orb droprate. Eventhough, it will be less valuable than a chaos after a month or two and might even become less valuable than an alch, imo. Selling logs: /view-thread/782113(very high speed)

" I'm not talking drop rate. I'm talking mods rolled by the orbs. Orb of Chance is usually crap, I bet that the Vaal Orb will be mostly be crap too. |

" Sorry it looks like i did not read your comment at all. I can't understand how a Divine orb applied on a low roll Andvarius can give you the same roll. On the other hand, a lot of players will seek that 1% before becoming traders and hoarders. Selling logs: /view-thread/782113(very high speed)
