Help me build an awesome Pirate themed build

Hey guys, so I just made a char with absurdly awesome name “SwashbucklingPirate” And I can’t waste this opportunity to make an awesome build with him.

I need a Shadow build that can use a 1h sword and a shield.. (Most pirates I can think of don’t use daggers)
What kind of build could I do with that? I’m not seeing much looking around the forums and it makes me a bit of a sad panda.

If there isn’t any awesome 1h sword builds I think I just might go with a Tri Elemental trapper ( that an swashbuckling adventure right there ).
What would you guys do with a pirate themed char?

[you could do a crit build with a shield and rapier, or are you going for the cutlass type swords for more piratey feels?]

And you'd have to incorporate Fairgraves' skins somehow.

Wat? No. It has to be a Shadow because he's not wearing a shirt and all good pirates don't wear shirts.

Actually, now that you mention it, the Shadow totally sounds like Wesley from The Princess Bride.

I'm thinking a frenzy based one-handed and sword damage build with Acrobatics, Ondar's, and Leather and Steel. Using mainly Frenzy, probably Reave for your aoe (if that alone is viable?) You could play with Tempest Shield and Puncture, which would require different skilling.

The skillset seems very piratey. you could also try for Blood Rage and CI, but that requires a lot of energy shield which doesn't seem very piratey.

You could essentially just use an attack + splash, then fill in the rest for dps supports. Double strike / frenzy + splash, cyclone as well if you can handle the desync, these setups using 1h + shield. How you itemize would be up to you. The most important part though would just be how you make the character look. Even 1h spectral. Just don't forget the sexy Stormsail. :D So glad I use it on my character now..

ARRRRRR!!! Ye be havin' starb'rd idea!! I will be using the legendary stormsail sheild, End game I will use a BoR skin swaped wit' a fine cap'n's priate hat..
