Piety was a prostitute
I actually think Piety bought prostitutes. Then, she would convince them to join her in the Lunaris Temple where she would perform unthinkable experiments on them.
No man in his right mind would willingly go to Piety in her Temple, but for a price... TY to those who called me out on my BS on these forums. There is no benefit to being so selfish as to fail to acknowledge others' differing beliefs of what "should be" or believe your own opinions so supreme as to be factual and thus dismiss others' opinions as being somehow a lie or delusional. It doesn't matter how interesting it is. It could be the most fascinating backstory ever but the game doesn't present it in an interesting matter so it doesn't matter anyway.
You want more proof? Every fucking idiot ever knows that God doesn't have a face. |

" To be honest, no argument you could even attempt to provide would really hold any relevance in the given case. You have provided subjective statements. Each person's experience will differ from the next. You may not find the presentation of, or even the lore in itself to be interesting, but who is to say that there are not those which find it to be the exact opposite? ...narf

In before crazy feminists (about a redundancy) and leftists who love to call themselves "liberals" and "progressives" come in shouting "misogyny" and about their favorite ghost: the "patriarchy"!
By the way, as I type this, I notice my computer does recognize "misogyny" but not "misandry". And as such, about 70% of people living in the streets are men and over 90% of work-related deaths are men's. Oh well. Here since Closed Beta. Never found a Mirror. Still love PoE. :- ) Last edited by markus7#6023 on Feb 23, 2014, 11:43:32 PM

actually, if you read the note in the errmm place where you kill a 'captain' to open the doorway between Act II and Act I, that captain is piety's lover.
Not sure if this disproves or proves that she is a prostitute though. Alica was Dominius's bitch though, according to Scion's monologue when you kill her. |

" It's a cardinal sin of game design to have high-volumed voice overs during tense encounters repeating the same thing over and over again. It's not a good line given it's repetition. None of the other character's VO bother me at all (not even the ranger's mispronounced "I'm OUT OF MANA!"), but bosses shouldn't repeat themselves so much. I didn't mean to offend anyone with my opinion on the lore, to be honest I don't know anything about it, and I've played this game a lot. That was my only point, all I know about PoE's lore is something about a Monkey King. Last edited by FatesDefiler#5760 on Feb 24, 2014, 1:20:45 AM

She may have been some sort of high class prostitute.
However, she was accused of meddling with the dark arts and encounters with her show that she does have some power. Clarissa says that rumour had it that Vinia earned her new position as the right hand of Dominus on her back (or on her knees, something along that), which could hint at her being a prostitute. " I'm glad "The touch of god" and "The light of Divinity" are in the game. It's so hard to make out anything up there in the rain, totems and stuff around, that without those lines I'd be hit by the corresponding attacks more often. Of course, they could have used another sound that indicates that Dominus is about to use them. Now, who really gets on my nerves is Gravicius. Not only is what he says rather stupid IMO, it sounds totally out of place. Bird lover of Wraeclast

Pssst! Kole was a rapist.
A sword he brought, his foes to maim and rend,
from places dark behind forbidden doors, But night by night he woke with frighten'd roars from darkest dreams, too strange to comprehend. (Anonymous) |
