Long time poster. First time venturing into the Off Topic forum. I was told there would be cookies and beer here. Was it a trap?

Things I heart: Firefly, SNES and the usual things people making small talk say they like; being a music snob, awesomely bad Sci-Fi, etc.

Do I just jump in and start replying to stuff or is there like a hazing process?
