Mutes that last longer than 12 hours can only be done my GGG staff (not forum moderators), so there is no way that any GM's (or more accurately "Mods") are abusing any powers (since they cant do this anyway) I highly doubt you would be punished twice for the same act, I would consider that bad form. I really think your thread title is misleading though, because you obviously know the reason behind the mute, you just wont tell us. |

One of the best things I've seen another developer do (I won't name the dev, but many of you might know them) is to research claims like this and then post what actually happened. It's always interesting to see all sides of claims like this.

When you created your account, you pressed that little "I accept" botton. Perhaps reading that including their rules, wouldn't be that bad after all, reading that you say that you had no clue you were breaking the rules.

I agree that you shouldnt post them on the forum, you should probably PM support if you think it was unjustified. They probably wont remove it, but if you are nice maybe they will reduce it to 1-3 days.
As far as I know, mods & staff arent handing out mutes for bad character names (they are just changing the names), so It was probably something other than that. EDIT: I just looked through the mute panel, and apparently mutes ARE being handed out for bad character names, but I only see racist ones if there are mutes associated with it. I'll just add that no one loves this community more than a volunteer, unpaid moderator. And we know that if a moderator were to actually abuse the power, that would damage the community in some pretty horrible ways.
We are not chosen to enforce our own personal beliefs, or what we want. We're called to help ensure that GGG's wishes are met. That is all. If that is ever forgotten, by either player or, far worse, a moderator, action must be taken. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
