What account did this happen on?

I am afraid to reveal my account due to the nature of my muting. Unless you can promise me that I will not receive any further punishment.

LOL noob. The staff already know's your account just by tracking your ip. L2internet

Further supporting my claim of abuse of power.

TLDR- Muted without giving reason, still don’t know what I did wrong, GM favoritism, GM abusing powers, Violation of freedom of speech.

I just feel that I need to voice my concerns because this is a great game and I would hate for it to be ruined by things like this.

What freedom of speech? You've logged into a system that has the authority to do whatever it wants to your account so don't throw the illusive "freedom of speech" out.

Wouldn't support be the path to take if you think you've been unfairly muted from chat? It may have been a mod misclick or it may have been warranted.

Anyway if you were muted due to a potentially inappropriate name don't question why you were allowed to do it. They've probably assumed that people aren't mental midgets who name their character BigBlackPenisFucker, I have seen a variant of that, purely to see if it will get banned :p.

I promise.......

101% of these cases is because the accused is hiding alot of information from us.. like threatening someones life in global chat or something to that extremities. Of Couse i am not saying you are.. but in cases like this.. you get the negativity of the doubt, not benefit.

Prove us right or else be considered wrong.

Stop with the paranoia and sort your issue out.

Sorry but the information is excluded from the freedom of information act and you are bound to the services EULA.

Extensive mutes are generally a result of spamming or names that violate the terms of use. Just a note, moderators can't mute for longer than 12 hours, so if you were muted longer, it was done by a developer or full on administrator.

80% of these cases are due to some spam that the OP conveniently forgets.
15% of these cases are due to an inappropriate character name.
5% of these are due to misclicks during a spam attack in General.

Freedom of Speech with regards to the First Ammendment and the United States, only applies to the government's limitation of speech (barring hate, or restricted speech.) This does not apply to businesses and essentially private property (your sending whatever it was that got you muted over their servers), nor does it impact a company that operates outside of the United States.

I believe that it is mostliely due to an inappropriate name but if it was then why was I able to use that name in the first place. I also believe that it was not an inappropriate name.

Well unless your name was ZyklonB i doubt the name could have been a factor unless it was extremely offensive.

As others have said, you can bring it up to me here or you could bring it up to Support... either works.

I was under the impression you didn't know what had caused it, but it seems you might.

Typically the policy is as such:

1) abusive language gets a mute
2) sexist, racist gets a longer mute
3) extremely offensive names get put into a queue for renaming, and often carries with it a long mute, which is maybe what you are experiencing.

Also previous infractions often increase your mute time, but ultimately it's at the discretion of the staff member doing the muting.

In either case, I can let you know the extent of the issue if you want, but typically it's for a good reason.

I believe this is my first offence because I have never been muted before.
No one can really help you then. This would be a question for a support ticket really to determine the nature of the mute.
