Muted without any warning or reasoning behind it

Earlier today I tried to type in local chat and I was surprised to see that I was muted by a GM for 6 days without any warning or without giving me the reason for why I was muted. After I got muted I went to the path of exile website to look for the terms that I might have gotten banned for but I was unable to find anything that said if you do these specific things then you will be punished for them. I personally think that I have done nothing wrong to provoke the mute I received on my account and if I did provoke such a thing I would like to be informed on the reason why I was muted. I was just going to stop here but then I heard something on a certain persons stream concerning another player receiving a mute. I do not wish to mention any names here because I do not know if he wishes to be mentioned. This individual was also muted like I was but then he used his connections with the path of exile employees to get his account unmuted. This brings me to my next point of favoritism. I am currently playing on the hard core ladder and I believe that favoritism towards other players is unfair for people like me who have just recently found this amazing game but are not close to any of the GM’s like this individual. Now for 6 days I will not be able to speak in global or trade chat so I will be unable to trade other players seeing as how this game has no auction house or player market system that is in game other than trade chat. This mute is causing the individual I mentioned earlier to further himself by being able to easily communicate with other players though the use of trade chat even though he broke the unknown rules that have been placed. This in a way is causing him to further himself on the hard core ladder at a faster pace than me because he is able to communicate with other players and find trades easily. I believe that this act of favoritism is unfair for other players like me who unknowingly broke these rules that have not been clearly stated or stated at all. This brings me to my next point of GM’s abusing their powers. I have read other posts where other people unknowingly did something that caused one of the GM’s to mute them and most of not all did not receive any reasoning behind the mute. It has gotten to a point where I am fearful of posting this on my main account because I am afraid that they might abuse their powers and ban my account or continue my mute even longer for trying to speak out against them.This is very worrisome to me because if they do actions like this without any warning or informing the player what they did wrong what else will they do? Will this favoritism escalate to the point where GM’s are giving their favorite players or friends free equipment and currency? Maybe even grant free levels or more skill points who knows. I would just like the chance to be giving a proper trial as to why I was muted and the reason behind it. So then maybe I can defend myself instead punishment without speaking out for myself.

TLDR- Muted without giving reason, still don’t know what I did wrong, GM favoritism, GM abusing powers,

I just feel that I need to voice my concerns because this is a great game and I would hate for it to be ruined by things like this.

Edit: I will remove my section dealing with freedom of speech but that doesn't change the other points I have made.

Freedom of speech? LOL..What world are you living on? Even in real life there is no such thing. ;)

Extensive mutes are generally a result of spamming or names that violate the terms of use. Just a note, moderators can't mute for longer than 12 hours, so if you were muted longer, it was done by a developer or full on administrator.

80% of these cases are due to some spam that the OP conveniently forgets.
15% of these cases are due to an inappropriate character name.
5% of these are due to misclicks during a spam attack in General.

Freedom of Speech with regards to the First Ammendment and the United States, only applies to the government's limitation of speech (barring hate, or restricted speech.) This does not apply to businesses and essentially private property (your sending whatever it was that got you muted over their servers), nor does it impact a company that operates outside of the United States.

What account did this happen on? There are no events for the account you posted from, which was created a few minutes ago.

I believe that it is mostliely due to an inappropriate name but if it was then why was I able to use that name in the first place. I also believe that it was not an inappropriate name.

seriously though, what's the use of coming here and making a thread about it?. PM support and ask nicely what the story is. If it's an oversight im sure it'll be rectified.
If they have cause for a 6 day mute then I'm pretty sure we wont see you come here and admit to whatever it was you did or said.

You can either respond to the moderator here, or you can submit an e-mail to support.

If you feel that you were unjustly muted by a moderator, please PM Support. This ticket will go directly to the developers and they can review the concern accordingly.

Btw, you withdrew your freedom of speech when you signed the Terms of Service upon creating your account and entering the game.
