Help with Shock, Static Blows and Crits
|
Hi all
I just had a Lionseye Glare drop for me (lucky I know!) and with this I was thinking maybe making my first bow toon built around Lioneyes and LA. I've been planning a skill tree based on a LA crit Scion and wanted to know a few things regarding shock: 1) Each time I crit does it produce shock ailment on enemies thus not needing Static blows? 2) Also the same question regarding passive node Shock? Thanks IGN: Munkehboi

Yes, each time u crit u shock opponents. Not much point in grabbing those nodes if ur going crit

Lioneyes has low base crit, so it's difficult to get crit chance high enough that you'll always manage to shock stack everything reliably. Static blows is absolutely worth it if you're going to be in that area of the tree anyway, which also has those crazy life/chaos RES nodes and 60% crit chance/10% multi.

Also, I think you can Shock twice in one shot if you have those nodes. Once for the crit, once for the 20%.

Oh ok. thanks for the input. I was thinking due to LG attack speed and attack speed nodes, even with less crit chance, due to the fact LG always hits and it has high APS, it would make up for it?
Tree wise I was thinking about something like this? Coupled with Maligaro's, crit rings, ammy and quiver? Scion LA IGN: Munkehboi Last edited by Munkehboi#6500 on Feb 7, 2014, 12:00:59 PM

Static blows is definitely still worth it as you are unlikely to get crit chance above 50% anyway, and on tankier mobs the extra shock duration will help you keep multiple shock stacks up on the mobs. Don't forget that you can get up to 3 shock stacks on a mob simultaneously, which makes a HUGE difference.

tbh, if you're going to gear up alot on crit anyway, there's not much point spending so many points just to grab static blows and crit chance when the majority of crit nodes are at the shadow area.
Also, there's not much point grabbing static blows when the amount of lightning damage you'll deal with your previous tree may not even be high enough to shock mobs, even with the chance to shock. This for instance will likely grant you higher dps and enough crit to shock stack mobs quite consistently Tree edit: better you can also get another 2 power charges (1 from Alira, 1 from Shadow area) if you want and use Romira's Banquet to boost your chances of crit/shocking mobs. assuming you use maligaro's and have 30%+ incr. crit chance on your ammy and quiver, +4 power charges will grant u a transient ~800% total incr. crit chance which should get you to 45% crit chance with lioneye's. That, together with your attack speed and the bonus from Romira's power charges should render it far superior to a static blows-oriented version. " Cool thanks for the passive tree Invalesco. My main conundrum was always weather it was worth going up the top of the tree for static blows or not. I think i'll try your one. IGN: Munkehboi
