So... when is GGG going to hire the poe.xyz.is guy?

I just started playing this game after a year and remember hearing about poe.xyz.is before, but never got around to using it. So I was creating a build recently and ended up searching for items on that site. Let me just say... it has made my life (in this game) so much flipping easier. I set the options to "Online Now" and "Buyout Only" and have the items I want literally in 5 minutes flat.

After a few days, I'm convinced that poe.xyz.is pretty much a must. The "waterfall" we call the in-game Trade Chat is simply barbaric in comparison. I mean, I'm fine with using poe.xyz.is as a third party site, but have the devs over at GGG ever considered hiring the poe.xyz.is website maker, or implementing a similar system themselves? If poe.xyz.is was somehow integrated with PoE, it would be a lot more streamlined as I can see no downsides. Also, the bulletin board can be used for actual parties, instead of being flooded with item trade spamming.

I think GGG likes where XYZ stands currently. If they were to integrate a similar function into the site, everyone would think it's mandatory to use the trading system; which would hurt the in-game trading system.
Good memories from closed beta: http://imgur.com/D2eSfYL - Damn fine chest.
May nullsFaith from closed beta safely rest in GGG's backups ;)

They would also lose "street cred" for having copied rather than innovated.

The ingame trading system isn't really effective, why would it be a problem if it was hurt?

I advertise every day in the trade chat. Usually I don't get any responses, same when I look for an item.

An upgraded ingame trading system would be great.

What trading system? When I turn on Trade Chat, everything is flying by at a mile a second. Not even webcam girl chatrooms are this flooded. There's no search function, no shop option, no price option.

I mean, if you think about it, Trade Chat is worse than a Saturday morning bazaar. At least at a bazaar, people can set up shop and sell their homemade goods. The current PoE "trading system" is like putting 100 people in a room and all of them are yelling over each other at the top of their lungs.

I think at this point, they would be losing even more "street cred" for not implementing something. I would say most people don't care if GGG copies poe.xyz.is when it's that useful. I mean, in a sense, Uniques are "copying" since a lot of those items are invented by non-GGG employees. So, does GGG lose "street cred" each time a Unique is introduced?

From my understanding, GGG meant the trading system to be about bartering. Before they give in and ignore that design goal, I can only imagine they will try to improve on what they have currently. I enjoyed trading in global chat in closed beta more than I do trading with xyz.

Probably because closed beta had nowhere near as many traders to deal with spamming the chat as now.

I used to trade manually during the early days of open beta and it wasn't too bad back then, now it's simply impossible with how fast trade chat moves, I only really use trade chat for trading orbs.

You say that like the current system is actually bartering. No one trades item to item, ever. It's merely a currency based economy where you need enough (gold) orbs to get anything of use for oneself. They've failed that design goal pretty badly already.
I hope never, i hate poe.xyz.
