Fusing a 5 linked armor - chance?

Hey I just spent 50 fusings for creating at least a 4l, maybe even a 5l armor. But everything above 3l + 2l seems "impossible". What are the fusing chances?
Unknown, but on a 6-slot item it takes around 70 fusings to 5-link on average. It's totally random, people have been known to get 5 link in under 5 fusings or as much as 500.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Well, assuming you have a 6-slot item, that gives you 5 links you need to create. Each link has a 1/2 chance to have a link, and we have 5 links, so that's a 1 in 2*2*2*2*2 chance, or a 1-in-32 chance of making your 6-slot into a 6-link. If you're happy with a 5L, that chance jumps to a 1-in-16 chance, and if you are happy with a 4L, that's a 1-in-8 chance. Of course, this is just basic probability; it doesn't take into account the fact that Fusings consume Quality to increase the chances of getting more links, nor does it account for situations such as you describe, where you get the three links you want, but they're in the wrong spot. I'm not sure how to do the calculations on those.

Chance of a 5 link (if you fuse a 6 socket item) is roughly 2/3 of 1%.

Chance of a 6 link is just slightly greater than 0.1%.

Fusing is not determined by a 50/50 roll per link. Everything you said is wrong.

Lool
And what about that quality aspect? Has that been taken into account?

FTFY.
@topic: You don't use currency for gambling. The text on them is a trick in this game that's supposed to make you think that they are actually intended for use and not for trading.

As I tried to get a 6l Carcass Jack, I bought good unlinked ones and jewel+fused them. Whenever I got a 5l I sold them and bought a new unlinked one. I didn't get a 6l but made so much currency with the 5l that I could buy one eventually. I was unlucky with some but very lucky with others. On average I made a profit while doing this. Please keep telling other players not to 5l items so I can continue with this method in the next leagues.
Well, I'm sorry I tried to help, but there doesn't seem to be readily-available information on the wiki. At least, if there is, I don't know what page it would be on. And I'm using the wiki for just about everything. I won't try to say I'm right, but when I have no information on how this works, all I have to bring to bear are the basic laws of probability. Obviously, they don't apply here, but how was I supposed to know that when I've only been playing for a few weeks?
