Good build for first character?

spectral throw , with out a doubt , the only thing that you would actually have to invest in is a two hander , which is much easier than all the crit , summoning and spell caster gear you would need to dick around with to get other builds off the ground.

I actually played as a Ground Slam Marauder during the beta. It was strong, but I got bored pretty fast.

I was reading through the forum. The Scion wasn't here the last time I played, so I decided to start there. I found this build:

It looks fun. Would anyone suggest against it? I was thinking about it and I really don't want to do a summoner right now. I'll eventually get around to it, but for my first character, I'd like a "in-your face" type. I watched the video of this guy playing and it looked fun.
