Define "Hardcore player", please

Apparently the ongoing discussion about how rewarding/unrewarding this game is, or how good/bad RNG is, can be summarized like this:

1. For "hardcore players", RNG and drop rates are just fine.
2. For non-"hardcore players", RNG and drop rates simply causes frustration and restrain us from giving our $$ to GGG; forcing us to actually stop playing.

So what in the world of gaming is a "hardcore player"?

A player who spends 20 hours a day playing; a player who quickly understands the mechanics and beat it faster; streamers?

Someone, please, bring some light on this topic.

I always thought a hardcore player was a player with rock solid abs.
in b4 sc vs hc

Mah morn narr
There is no solid definition, this is the cause for the problems related to it.

It's purely based upon personal interpretation.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
"Hardcore player" (henceforth "HP")= arrogant forum troll who primarily cares about the length of his e-peen in this game. When other players don't appreciate or agree about the length of HP's e-peen, HP demands that threads be made with the sole goal of measuring his e-peen and comparing it to that of others.

HP's are also known for their affinity for the "Alt" and "F4" keys on their keyboard, their inability to get along with people who disagree with them (particularly if the disagreement is over HP's e-peen size), and their refusal to consider any criticism of the game as legitimate.

Favorite past-times of the HP (apart from e-peen measuring) include:
-trolling "scrubcore" players, especially in any thread that complains about the XP penalty for dying in non-hardcore leagues
-opening 100 different programs in Windows and then seeing how fast he can Alt-F4 out of all of them, just for practice
-making threads to occasionally lament all the ways in which GGG is listening to "casuals" and thus ruining the game
The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard
The 82nd character to hit Delve 1000 in Standard

Different use of the term. Hence the on going confusion.
Hardcore player is someone that stops in the middle of the Dungeon, surrounded by monster, to type in Chat.
“Demons run when a good man goes to war"
to me, a hardcore player is one who enjoys hard games, they play for the challenge and enjoyment, not for the reward.

Thus a hardcore player would not complain on the forums about how "unfair" the RNG is.

Casual players are transient, they mainly just want an easy game that they can win so they can get some quick satisfaction and move on.

A Casual player will complain endlessly if they feel that some aspect of the game isn't "rewarding" them for their hard "work".

I'm a casual Hardcore player.
I play HC or the parent league because this game is built to play HC imo.

Its much more enjoyable and rewarding than the other way you can play this game.

Just one man's opinion ofc.
Hardcore is how we play ™

Best ladder ranking so far: OhSnapIsRerolling, rank 85 HC Nemesis League
