dual wield sword/axe build have become different build

Block isn't broken.

Dual wield sucks, you can either use Dual Strike or Reave to be efficient and to take some advantages of dual wield.

In fact, I'm really sad that DW sucks that bad in PoE, I love dual wielding, but... no.
the passive of dual wield block is too weak
only the 3 passives closed to duelist are strong enough----increase 14% block chance

dual wield build could only Significant growth block with unique equipment like BOR and WOE

but the damage of one hand is still more than cleave used on both hands
cleave is 70%x60%x2=84% but reave is 100%

and alternates also gets the buff of dual wield APS

any how , reave is a good AOE skill for dual wield build and has better DPS than clean in the same situation

Cleave isn't for dual wield for a long time :P

10%aspd from dual wielding is multiplicative with everything.

so it's effectivly 10% MORE damage.

True, shield is nice and all, but the damage boost from DW is NOT neglible

Although I've started as a dual wielder, because that is my genuine play style, it absolutely sucks compared to 1-hander + shield.

I would gladly take block + resist + armour over 10% more DPS any day, especially in 80+ level.

it's a fact................. dual wield build lacks of AOE skill, and other skill
anyhow cleave and cyclone are the only AOE skill that could use both hands before reave change to be alternate.
we have no choice

compared to shield build, dual wield build really have better DPS and more APS, but not enough good skill,
DUAL_STRIKE is good but only this.
whirling blade and reave are both suit on shield build and dual wield build .the advantage of dual wield strike is too weak

and about block
sheild block's passive is much better than dual wield block's , sheild is easier to get hi-chance block

dual wield is not very powerful but not too weak, just wait for increaseing dual wield skill and passive
So, having played a DW dagger character to 71 and experimenting with both Dual Strike and Reave, at this point I'm fairly convinced that Dual Strike + Melee Splash is better all around for DW.

While Reave gives you better *range* the actual AoE is only very slightly better then a 0% quality Melee Splash, and only at 8 stacks. Melee Splash will hit mobs behind and to the direct side of you as well, whereas Reave does not. If you can get quality on your MS then it's no contest. And DS does a LOT more DPS unless you support Reave with Concentrated Effect, and doing that destroys the AoE unless you're wearing Carcass Jack.

Not to mention that it allows you the flexibility to use Whirling Blades / Flicker Strike / Curses etc without losing your stacks.

I like Reave, have another character that uses it, but I think it's much better for 1H / Shield and a more defensive play style.

because the radius of MS is aptotic, the radius of reave depends on your weapon range, master of the arena could increase 2
if you use 1h_weapon with master of the arena, you wuould find reave's radius is much bigger than MS's
the 2 range also get 160% radius buff
the disadvantage of DS+MS is need a extra socket to put in MS gem, reave have one more support gem to raise DPS when in the same situation.
although DS have more DPS than reave, and this could narrow the gap between them
DS+MS would be fully used on 6L or BOR

because of less APS/Defence passives and lack of master of the arena, reave suits more on duelist than shadow

Swap out Double Strike in your BoR for a second Dual Strike. The only time you'd even consider using Double over Dual for a DW build is if you're using LGoH, which you are not.

Maybe the new melee skill coming out next week will be nice for dual wielding.
