Orb of Augmentation recipe

Staring at 3 rows of augs in my stash, which at this point I just vendor for alts, would really like if the rarest rares gave me something better. Even if it was a chance if alchs are too valuable. But really I'd like 1 alt over 1 aug any day.

It's useful, but only for a limited window of time. When you're rolling a new character in a brand new league, and when you're rolling low level maps for the first time. Other than that, it's fodder for the small fraction of us who do serious crafting.

I firmly believe that the average player, if not ALL players get far more than enough augs by just picking them up off the ground.

To me, the issue with the Aug recipe is it makes the item less valuable. Recipes should be about making items more valuable or useful.

It's very frustrating to see an item that would easily vend for 10 Alt shards and 2 Alc shards pop out an Aug, which has an equivalent value of 5 Alt shards.

Pretty much that. I would like to see some numbers showing definitively what percentage of the time the aug recipe makes an item more or less valuable.

Like I said before, I would rather have one alch shard than an aug... And I see all the time that the item I sell for an aug would certainly yield at least that.

+1 for a worthy suggestion.

I think it's counter-intuitive to have what should be the most rewarding items at the vendor to turn out crap.

I use the vendor->aug items for the chaos orb recipe... kinda alleviates the pain.

Removing the aug recipe would be better overall as we get way too many augs. Antnee, your suggestion making the recipe "blue set = aug" is OK in theory, but in practice I'm not sure people would bother.

Yea, I get that little twinge of annoyance whenever the aug recipe shows up, I feel like when i have a 6 prop item I would usually get more than 7 alt shards to it and I'm just selling for a loss. I do like the full set of blue gear suggestion as it would make picking blue gear up worthwhile.

Yep, agree.

I'm not married to the concept of a full blue set being an aug... Hell, I would be satisfied if the current recipe stayed, but was overwritten if the gear had even one mod that yields an alch shard.

augs are incredibly usefull at league start and that recipe is simply magnificent in order to get them, sure in parent leagues i dont care about using aumentations/nor identifying everysingle blue with a good base item), but for new chars its very usefull, if anything id change what augmentations vendor for, if they vendored for wisdoms they would be much better, as it is now, i feel sad when i have to vendor them for alt shards(and it really is saddening but i have no use for them in hardcore league)
