Do stats tell the truth about PoE?

No matter how you look at it, the end result is X player out of Y managed to 6L.

Lol but there sure is a difference between 15% of merciless players got a 6l (1200 out of 8000 as per your graph) and actually seeing how many of those tried to fuse one. If that number is more like 3000 then the new % is 40%.

When you don't know the amount that attempted spouting a number like 15% is irrelevant.

Also 15% of the population having a 6l is pretty darn good IMO as it is the most sought after item in the game.

How do you define 'attempt to 6L'? One fuse? 10 fuse? 1000 fuse?

You could say '95% of players that spent more than 1500 fuses manage to 6L'.

Bottom line is, 1,5 mil player started in Normal Strand. 8,000 ended up experiencing the feeling of 6Ling.

What I attempted with this post is to present how much gated content in PoE is. PoE is an amazing game, with some of the really good mechanics, but so much of it is unecessary gated from majority of players. Sure, the numbers are aproximation, and there are multiboxers and multiple account, but we are talking about statistical pool of 1,5mil players through Steam, and probably 2mil ouside of Steam. Even if the margin of error is +- 20%, the % of achievements would be rather accurate.

Edit: and honestly, some of the replies here, it's like I'm in fucking battlenet forums.

This place used to be good:|
„I don't give a fuck if it was his tenth anniversary with his goddamn neckbeard...“
„If they think I'm going to let them sweep this pizza guy thing under the rug...“
No mod action. Business as usual.

It wouldn't feel the same if it were easier to obtain.
It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth -
playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp.

but it would be a hell of a lot more fun.
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.

insane in the membrane
consider that we are more than 75% of the way through a 4 month league too. Numbers will diminish and surge in 4 month cycles due to the nature of dumpster/temporary leagues

I don't have good RNG, never 6L'ed an item and never find exalts yet I feel this game is as rewarding as any other that i've played, D3 included.

If good loot rained down on you every day you'd be just as miserable

Really man,

go play world of warcraft if you WANT it the easy way.

i am glad i found a game that is actually hard to progress.

99% of the games nowadays are easy and made for the mass to make money.

POE is like that, it might take a lot of hours of gaming before you get something good, but thats how i like it.

all your statistics only shows that if you put as much effort in the game than building this post, you would probably have 100 exalt by now.

and who cares if the player base is droping. they cant please everyone. if you dont like the game, dont play it, its not like you paid anything. you dont even have the right to complain.

GGG have made what blizzard couldnt and without the infinite pool of $$$ that blizzard have access to. they deserve a donation if you like the game, and they deserve that you stop polluting their forums and scare potential players.

Go buy a teddy bear and find a cloud to float on it.

UNBELIEVABLE

Ahh yes, the good old fanboy statement number 54 "go play wow eazzzy mode". And that from someone who created the account in December 2013. See you in a few months after reality kicks in.

Seems to me like a short period of time is all that many players will actually play of this game.. sooooo
So we get a ton of great statistics about player base, then the original poster somehow jumps to the conclusion that item drop rates are too low and the game is not fun. Such a shame.

But yeah... Like 2000 hours at this point. No chance unique, no 6 link.
Lots of attempts.
Still having fun.

Not only that, most of the people who say that probably couldn't get 3v3 arena gladiator if their lives depended on it. PvE wise some of the content in wow, even the 5 man stuff at various time periods, is far far more challenging than anything in path.
I have quite a few "not yets"

I haven't found:

A 20% gem.
A multistrike support gem.
A portal gem.
About 90% of the uniques in the game.
A mirror.

I'm still having fun. That's all that matters.
