Is there a build that doesn't require item-trading?

You need certain gear for summoner, the easiest is to just make a super tank high health high block and use something with melee splash. slowly grind your way to endgame.

Here you go, OP. This build doesn't require uniques to be fully optimized nor do you need to trade stuff around. You do, however, need to get lucky on finding the stuff yourself.

Arctic Armor /Mind over Matter / Eldritch Battery.
U can pretty much play selffound and be so effective with this build. no crit build ofc its hella expensive cuz of good crit daggers i am not sure if it would be as effective as wand no crit EK all you need is 5L even no resist or some resist no life you dont care about chest stats. and you can 5link selffound without a problem or just chance the simple robes you found at normal act1 to get tabula and 6L GG Squirrel is love, Squirrel is life.

Playing mostly self-found, I have a much harder time gearing up my CI summoner than I do my 2H Spectral Throw character. I find that in the release version, it's also much easier to get good life-based gear than CI stuff, so if I were to redo my summoner (next season), I'd go for a life build.

I think summoners are probably the least gear dependent builds. Your minions are in many ways your gear- they shield you from enemies and attack for you so the gear you need is not as important.

What build you play will depend on what items you find (and to some extent craft). Play somethin fun and keep good items. Play another character and save good items. By the time you have, say, two level 65s you'll have a nice selection of gems and items to build from. But it might not be what you expected. Depends on what drops. |

I play 100% self found and run spec throw...been good to me so far, no complaints.
Takes awhile to farm gear once you hit the end game, fairly steep difficulty curve, but no like there is much else to do, but farm, farm, farm. |
