Is there a build that doesn't require item-trading?

I'm looking for a build that can take me to maps-farming (on Standard) but can get there without having to farm for any uniques or having to buy items off other players.

If such a build exist...please let me know.

All builds which doesn't require unique item or items, are playable via self found gears. Trade just simply makes you more op that's all

Summoner for example

almost every build can be made with compromise, plan for ideal
gear maybe, but don't count on it. Its a thrill when you get major
upgrades, you might even have to respec to take advantage of a piece
of gear.

ex: if you plan to dual curse, and get the passive... you could later
get some sick item with dual curse on it and respec like 5-8 skillpoints
removing the dual curse passive.

there are numerous other examples where a build could work just fine without
an ideal item or two...

people expect far too much...

I don't expect a 6 link anymore, sure as hell would use it to death if it
ever showed up... shavs or something would be rediculus... but did I build based
on shavs? LOL!? of course not. lol.

most builds are viable long before you get an elite item(s), those just
enhance it drastically. it was viable before.

do you deserve to have the most dps ever without playing much? fuck no.

I built a witch, and if in the course of being a witch alpha howl showed up...
I'd build another char with that as a featured item... It lets you freehand
the game a bit.

"what should I build?" ; "what do I have, and whats interesting to me?"

occasionally fate will grant you perfect mele items when you want to make
a bowman :/ oh well. fate can be cruel.

Some builds to stay away from:

Wander
Discharger
Cast on Crit
Flicker Striker

Play HC. Builds tend to converge to a survivable build over time as you learn from your mistakes. It's not a quick process, but it's a far more satisfying one.

Physical, Double Strike single target + Spectral Throw AoE. Very simple and easy to gear up.

You can get to maps without trading on a LOT of various builds. Actually completing maps and obtaining anything worthwhile (without trading) is a whole different story. The endgame is trading.

Farming maps without MF Gear is useless and a waste of maps - and getting the gear to solofarm maps with MF is impossible without trading... at least if you are impatient.

Also, for solofarming IMHO only a summoner will do.

You are raising bar pretty high here, unecessery I would say.

Many if not most builds are playable with not that much time spent on trading involved. For example;

If you buy (cheap; 1 chaos)weapon 2-3 times during leveling you'll do it 2-3x faster. Is is 100% self found worth here? You decide.


Many of powerful builds (like summoner) require 1-2 cheap uniques. Is going 100% SF worth here? You decide.


In short; If you opt for NO trading, 10-20% builds are viable.

If you opt for little trading 60% of builds are viable.

Is is 100% self found worth here? You decide.
