I'm a massive South Park fan so I'm very curious as to why you choose Scrotie McBoogerballs as a handle.

Apparently the more ruthless bums — let's call them "alpha savages" — have a monopoly on video cards and their processing units, because I haven't noticed any casually discarded nVidia or ATI models. I have managed to conceal from such barbarians that I own a working car, so further prying into their dealings with GPUs (or lack thereof) is not in my best interest, lest I provoke their curiosity.

I had problems with some locals; I solved that quite handily by relocating. The thing you need to understand is that there are tiers of shelters, based on how many restrictions they place on "clients," ranging from anarchial random gatherings of bridgefolk to places with waitlists, breathalizers, and urinalysis. Stop One tends to be a place with zero waitlist (and, most likely, no substance use testing), to gather info and wait out some waitlist; any bum with sanity quickly moves on to greener pastures. Unless by greener you mean with higher marijuana use, in which case less green pastures; I'm in a nice breathalizing place that's homeless vets on one side and a rehab clinic on the other.

Of course you try new things when you're homeless. Every day is a new adventure in self-improvement; if it's not, well, I guess then you want to *stay* a bum.

I wanted a name which was deliberately vulgar as an ironic contrast to an intended sophisticated posting style. I settled on Scrotie because the boys' antihero had established vulgarity but no one ever stopped to ask if he was smart or not; it simply wasn't covered in the episode.

I think Catcher in the Rye is overrated and mostly popular because of when it was, not what it is.

Sarah Jessica Parker disgusts me, but I'd still hit it.

My favorite South Park moment is the entire Douche and Turd episode. The entire thing.

I wouldn't dare call it rewarding, but it is surprisingly sustainable. Staying in shelters with your favored level of substance control year-round is normally nonsustainable due to things like 60-day-per-year limits, but if you don't mind some quality time with real addicts (or a little summer camping), there's no problem creating a yearly cycle. Keep your eyes open and you'll see the hustles of others, just as easily as thousands of fanboys copy Kripp builds. I've managed to work in a Native American casino that sell cartons of cigarettes dirt cheap and offers free slot machine play on top (good thing I'm not a gambling addict, so it's just free money for me, net price is roughly $15 a carton), plasma donation, and the Only Bum with a Car taxi service. I've been homeless for almost a month and I'm down a net $100; with some refinement (perhaps not smoking so many cigs) I could probably find a way to go pure-hustle, no-drug-dealing, no-job, and do this forever. If I was masochistic enough to want that.
