There doesn't seem to be a reasonable benefit for leveling up the Detonate Dead gem

My dual totem scion loves Searing Bond. Drop it at max range, Storm Call Spell Totem between Bond and toon, Elemental Weakness curse, move around as needed to melt mobs focused on beefy totems. Drop Searing Bond into group of casters/ranged and watch them melt while casting/shooting at Revuj Totem. 2x Searing and slice mob(s) with both beams for insane DoT.

Also, Vulnerability curse + Searing Bond + Melee toon.

Searing bond isn't that bad when sitting beside detonate dead it actually looks like a diamond...in the rough.

Detonate dead has always bothered me since joining in CB since it is exactly like(in theory) d2 corpse explosion except it doesn't seem to get any better if you lvl it. This spell could be absolutely AMAZING if GGG gave it a little bump perhaps increase the 18% by lvl?

You know, I've only ever used the defensive trigger gems, so I tend to forget how the offensive ones work.

And yeah I know re: infernal blow, but it depends on which melee skill I like it with, there might be something to find that's neat. I definitely want to do an infernal blow builds, because who doesn't love blowing shit up?

no level incentives? hell yeah.

underpowered skill? hell no.
potential damageoutput is awesome. do doubleboss maps and kill boss 2 with boss 1's corpse from full hp to death.
compared to the other spells, detonate dead is the only one skill with proper scaling with items and the skill tree.

While every other spell gets weaker, Detonate dead keeps its Strength and might even increase is waay beyond its limits.
