ROS > POE
Before Diablo III launched selling/trading access to Blizzard beta testing would have garnered interest. That era is dead now. Not to mention gaining access to testing in general through waves of invites is fairly common and easy. Betas are definitely not like what they used to be.

I honestly hope RoS is good. But I'm not going to get all nerd rage on which is better- which is clearly what the OP wants, posting that PoE is inferior on it's official forums.
Honestly RoS has some potential-at least attempting to fix some of my biggest complains with diablo 3. That said, I suspect it won't be enough to satisfy me needs in an ARPG, because honestly I think that while blizzard has "heard" some of the major complaints, they don't really understand them. In example they heard people complaining about "uninteresting itemization" and I suspect they are going to add items with procs/reverse procs- but overall those procs will have a predictable static effect on combat similar to just another passive stat. They won't have the scaling to make them 20 better in one build then another- which is to say ultimately they will be little different then any other passive bonus. That is to say they will be liek procso n items in MMOs- technically more interesting then "+X damage"- but not anything gamechanging or that can be built around. Which would ultimately be missing the entire point of the complaint. People weren't complaining about "+x damage" being less interesting then a "20% chance to proc +5x damage"- people disliked how there were no items gamechanging to build an entire character build around. The itemization felt like an MMO- each existing build just sought whichever basic stats happened to suite their build. Again, I sincerely hope RoS is good- but my hopes are guarded. In recent years I've come to realize I hate the way blizzard handles their games. -They balance games by limiting player's ability to combine things until they are aware of every syngery(there's no build you make in a blizzard game they didn't think of and plans for players to use). -They always target the widest demographic, streamlining otherwise interesting aspects of the game. Which I'm sure is good for some people- but for those like me who want first and foremost a game with the depth of strategy/character building that allows me to theorycraft and plan new builds for hours on end, blizzard games seem to always be wanting. PoE, ROS, Titanfall, Destiny, Dark Souls, Grim Dawn, I could go on...
There are going to be tons of great games to play. Don't pigeon hole yourself in some sort of PoE or die scenario. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

I'll play RoS. I don't really care, however I'll play in on PS3. Then I can play with myself; or at least while I play.
