No. You're sending the command. The repeater is *gasp!* repeating the signal!
If you take away the repeater, the character stops being controlled, right? Right.
So the repeater is controlling the character.
Not rocket science.

Not that I'm for using a key repeater, but really, by such a definition, pressing keys on your keyboard isn't you controlling a character, because the it's driver that interprets the signals into commands. If you take the driver away, the character stops being controlled.

The distinction is obvious. The keyboard is not automated. It must be touched in order to generate a signal, and there is a 1:1 relationship between input on the keyboard and commands to the character.
With a repeater, that relatioship is 1:n depending on the number of repeats. Everything beyond 1:1 is automated input, not generated directly by player input but instead by third-party software.
If the player is moving in response to your direct physical input, then you are in control.
If the player is moving in response to input generated automatically by software, then you are not in control.

So, if the same signal was mapped to N different keys, and N mice are taped together, it's groovy? 1:n is okay on the hardware layer, just not the software layer?

lol - could you imagine...
I play one machine on half a map, than I change to other machine for other half the map. LOL @ mice taped together...
This way i can level both my accounts, and share in increased loot. Again, I think theres a fine line between doing it this way manually, and using ANY software.

Yeah ok, I wouldn't even consider what you are trying to do "multi-boxing". When I hear that term I think of having multiple accounts and using key emulation software such as ISBoxer to control them all at once. If people are indeed streaming that they should be banned IMO. I don't see anything wrong with what you are trying to do but my opinion doesn't really matter.
lmao, nobody should be banned for using ISBoxer, key repeaters do not change the fact that the player is controlling the characters.
I don't understand how people can still be this ignorant.
Why do you multi-box? To gain an advantage over people who don't. I shouldn't have to go through all the trouble of getting a multi-box set up just to be able to keep up with everyone else. You sir, are the ignorant one.

Well, it could be argued that it puts the individual on the same playing field as a group of guildies. The game itself rewards you for playing in a group, but the loot system punishes you for playing with anyone you can't explicitly trust. Personally, I've always hated the expectations that come with guilds, so prefer to stay far away from them. I get my social interactions from my work and friends. For me, video games are solitary joy. Again though, I'm not really advocating multiboxing, but I definitely advocate giving the individual the same reward opportunities as the group.
If you're reading this, GGG, /player X please.

Agreed /player X would be a great feature but I think GGG needs to take a stance on multi-boxing. You still gain an advantage with multi-box because you would be able to clear a lot faster and all the loot is yours putting you at an advantage over a guild party even.

Well, I don't think a person multiboxing 6 characters would ever be as efficient as 6 real players, and there would be gear considerations for each box char. But yeah, all the truly epic stuff could be funneled to a single character. Still, a guild would likely be killing double the speed, and thus double the loot, of some dumb boxes.
