Let the cheaters cheat.

It really is a shame that the game has to be made to prevent cheating with a huge sacrifice to gameplay. I feel like things need to be done different and deal with the dupers/hackers in a different way, no matter the game you're gonna have them.

I'm not saying this game is bad
I honestly can't think of very many negative things about this game other then the domination league being a bit short. This whole desync thing is out of control and should be priority.

I shouldn't be limited to what the game can handle when it comes to a build. I should be able to use the abilities/gear given to me and let my imagination run free, Isn't that the point of the huge skill tree?

I went from a very viable spectral throw build with about 27k heavy strike and 3.5k spectral throw. They aren't crazy numbers but I was able to solo 77-78 maps no problem. I decided to reroll to a full on fire cyclone build which I thought would be fairly interesting. Cyclone is currently doing 11k dps unbuffed and I still need to polish up my gear.

I'm almost regretting this decision because of Desync. On my screen it's showing that I'm hitting mobs. I'm getting life back on hit but I'm not doing any damage. Next thing I know I'm 2 rooms back.


Let the dupers dupe
Let the cheaters cheat

Don't add any more microtransactions
Don't try to add content
Don't try to add more uniques

Put all that aside until you have a smooth game. You guys have everything else. I tried to get quite a few friends to play this game which are really into the whole RPG thing. Hardcore d2 players. Yet they were ran off by desync.

Your assumption is:

Desync is their one and only anti-cheater/duper/hacker/botter tool.

I'm no insider by any means, but I think this is stretched too far. It's a core game design decision to run server - client response and consolidation things. How far that is related with prohibiting users to break ToU, well, has to be proven.

About desync in general. I hate to say that, but the "cyclone" build in Diablo 3 is so much fun compared to Path of Exile.

And please, note that there is absolutely no problems with desync. It's so smooth (I played Diablo 3, I know what am I talking about). And Diablo 3 is an online game too. Why can't you do dis, GGG? Oh, why?

Smooth player expirience >>>>>>>>>>> Small number of cheaters. Just ban them and let them start from scratch. Legitimate players dont give a shit about cheaters.

I usually don't like to bring this argument up but Blizz probably earns more money per month than GGG did for the whole development cycle of this game and Desynch is the kind of problem that results out of limited resources.
we wont get a desync fix ever. this is GGG wants to create the game around mechanics, and if you want to have that, you have to deal with desync (since all those mechanics have to be calculeted by the sever).

if they "trust" the client, they will need to get Gamemasters monitoring the game, and that costs a lot of money, which they might get, but its another risk

Nobody would care for a cheater in such a league... and it would be desync free!

Um, I play a Tempest Rush Monk. You'd be amazed at how much desync I have on D3...
Not as much as a cyclone build here. But more that almost every other build.

It suxx abit that our Client need to ask the Server for permission of any Action, AFTER we did it.

And "insert Radom Factor here" happens, then simply: Server says NO!

On the otherhand, if GGG trust our Clients more, and dont let the Server Calculate every piece of shit, Then it opens the Doors for cheating/duping and such shit.

I guess GGG should try to find a better balance between server and client. At the moment its to many Server Sided.

But how long is this game now out, including OB? I read something about 5 years or so...

So after this Time, they dont make a Single touch in our Direction. They never will...
