Few things you should know before entering PoE Open Beta

another pro tip. ( Hardcore tips )

1.When you run into "count" kodoku run past it you will most likely die or spend 15 minutes trying to kill it for nothing.

2. Skip the first unique mob in terreces he will... rain fire on your parade. Come back after you get a level or 3. Same can be said with getting the medical supplies on the island.

More tips.

3. For your first play through focus on defensive nodes lvl 1-30 ( For HC, not sure about SC )

3.5 For 30-40 feel out your build, if you lose more than 1/2 you life in 5 hits you need more tankyness imo

4. Plan out your build and whats skills you want to use so as you pick up defensive nodes you go in the right direction of the damage skills you want pick up later.

4.5 Failure to do 4 will result in death and or a gimp character.

5. You WILL die, in fact you are already dead, it's just a matter of time of when it will happen.

5.5 SAVE YOUR GEAR!!!!! This is important as it will help you level faster if you decide you like the class that you were playing and want to make some build tweaks.

6. There is so much to learn in this game ask questions if needed ( I still do, as I am still noob) BUT PLEASE check the wiki or forms if you can for answers since it is OB your question may have been asked 1000 times already.

Agreed, excellent post. Might be worth a sticky, but not until Prodiii edits the OP and removes the lines about whites not being worth much.

They are quite possibly the most valuable drops in the game if you know what you are looking for. It scares me that a huge flood of new players might see this thread, take it for gospel and think they should ignore whites like you do in that other game.

I have invested almost all of my wealth in closed beta into upgrading white items into superiors followed by changing them into rares.

Excellent Guide by the way.

One thing OP might want to correct: the golden-orange items are called "Uniques" (Diablo II-style), not "Legendaries" (Diablo III/ WoW-style).
