Split Arrow / Frenzy Build (New to Bow need help)
This is my 1st time trying a Bow build, hopefully somebody can help me see if it's feasible for OBT. Blood magic as I think Ranger has a mana problem especially when bow skill can be costly. Use Frenzy as single target skill as well as to charge up to 5 charges for split arrows. Able to use Grace/Anger/Wrath/Hatred. With high attack speed, accuracy will not be an issue. EDITED: Add in INT nodes for Wrath requirement. Last edited by heatzz#7635 on Jan 19, 2013, 5:55:59 PM

you don't need that many attack speed nodes... at all, just by having those frenzy charges and having faster attacks support gem on your split arrow should be enough, same for damage, you don't need ALL of those physical damage for bow nodes, projectile, etc, you're gonna have more than enough, you're better off working to Iron Grip and getting to the marauder starting area for more HP/HP regen.

" You are right, forgotten that it's generally hard to find a good physical bow & it's physical scaling isn't that great. Made some changes to Iron Grip. Thanks for posting your build but I do not like your changes as you took too much point to Marauder, where life nodes are available near ranger to shadow. 4 points to Fury Bolt is too much, doesn't seems worth it. with 420 agi u dont need any points in accuracy so 3 points free + 1 point from 30 agi near Bm -u just dont need 30 more
Put them in dmg or hp regen nodes ign - FancySneakyDevil

" I guess you are right, with my attack speed accuracy won't really matter. I drop 50 dex now added 60 int for Wrath requirement & added 50% evasion. Last edited by heatzz#7635 on Jan 19, 2013, 5:52:06 AM

I personally would go with this build:
Don't underestimate the chance of receiving crappy bows in the beginning or midgame, as such grabbing the powerful Greater Impact notable is necessary. With this build, you have just a solid build with less passive points used, allowing one to spec into more damage nodes to Heavy Draw or resistances or the last .4% regen nodes next to Golem's Blood. Level 70 Build
If you're not going to stack the critical strike damage on the right side of the ranger staring area, and use alchemist to its fullest, then going over there to get the frenzy charge doesn't end up being worth it. 7 points for 10% attack speed/physical damage and alchemist... terribly inefficient. More life and armor. Most of your damage comes from your skill choice and gear (auras, flat fire/cold/elec damage, WED, attack speed), whereas a huge chunk of your life/evasion comes from your skill-tree. Good luck in OB! <3 In-Game-Name: Lezli

@Lezli: I personally think that your build focuses too much on armor. My experience with armor is that you can easily bolster it with the Grace aura and have more than enough to live as armor produces some major diminishing returns after 50% damage reduction.
I do agree that heading up towards the 6th frenzy charge is a bit of a waste of points and would be better spent on damage or life or resists. For Ranger build tips, tactics, and critiques, visit this thread:

@Lezli & Islidox
Thanks for pointing out the inefficiency stuff. I had changed my build here's the changes: Taken off Frenzy charge on the north. Taking Berserking & UW which leads to Blood Magic. From Blood Magic, go up to get more Life% & Iron Grip. Path to Iron Grip branch it to Duelist tree for Life Regens & Fury Bolts with better efficiency than branch from Thick Skin. |

@Islidox
Haha, yeah. I have a tendency to stack way too much of something specific just because it's in an easy to get location. XD A bit of Obsessive Compulsive behavior maybe. In-Game-Name: Lezli
