My opinion is if it makes your life easier as a dev leave em out as they are not really needed.

Well said, man.
Thats one of my reason why i choose no.
They should concentrate in other more priority stuff.

Having that numbers is not critical. As players should know that every characters we make, we try build to kill the mob fast.

I think, the only reasons players choose Yes/optional (if i am not wrong) are:-

1. They would like to see the flashy critics damage they do to the target.

2. For PK purpose. So that they can re-calculate their damage.

I am not against it. But i think DEV should concentrate elsewhere 1st. They could implement later.

A) But that said, I am curious about the PK stuff (since i dont PK). Do you PK'ers like to have the number display over your opponent(s)?

B) Another thing; is it better to have the HP numbers over your minions?

I voted enabled in options... More the players get to modify their game the happier they are. Personally I wouldnt want them, and if it takes too much time, Id say put your time and efforts into other things. I know you guys are busy =P
I want as many numbers as possible because it helps to come up with some stats for the monsters. I am also of the opinion that the damage we deal to monsters should be displayed above this heads as we hit them, along with miss, red text for critical hits, dodge, block, etc.
If you just showed the exact life for rare and unique mobs I think that would be enough.
+ with this add
when you atack monster numbers of how much dmg you made jumps out
May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't.
I love seeing all kinds of numbers. I'm not a min/max'er, but I love seeing who has what health, and what does how much damage, simply to collect the data and to compare the different entities.

But, I feel like one of PoE's biggest leverage against all the other games in the genre is the tone and immersion. (Also, the amazingly thought out passive skill map). I see how floating numbers everywhere can really ruin that immersion for a lot of players!

So, I feel like, if possible, this should definitely be an option. :)

I would totally use it! I'm sure a lot of others would! But, I'm also sure a lot of people would want to keep this option off, for immersion's sake...
I voted for "if enabled" but I definitely agree with the Diablo I option, as many posters above me suggested.

It would be really nice to be actually able to gradually "discover" not only the hp amount of the monster, but a lot of extra information, as you kill them more and more (especially magic resistances).

Yhis would add in immersion and would give the player a nice "what the heck is that!" feeling the first time you see a new/special monster.

There could be other advanteges related to the "bestiary/kill count" system: after a certain amount of kills, after discovering all the information about that particular monster, you could even gain a slight bonus to attack against that kind of foe, or an improved chance to land a critical hit, or something like that...

You could also have titles relate to your kill count numbers, so that when you kill an insane number of some particular creature (or total creatures, or combined similar creatures), you get your "Bane of the Undead" or "Slayer of Abominations" title.

Maybe titles and bonuses would only come into play at higher difficulty levels...
If enabled in the options YES

Theres just no excuse to say no, because its a feature in D3... I mean really?

Titan quest has it... it came before D3... and if theres an option to turn it on/off, you will only see those numbers if you choose to.

And no, its not MMO exclusive... and even if it was it never hurts to have more options...

On a side note the ideia about more blood/gore on crits or the higher the damage -> more blood, would be awesome
(again on/off option in the menu, could get repetitive seeing everything explode in a pool of blood xD)
I don't like the idea of an option, because when there is an option you feel as if you are purposely filtering out potentially useful information, and so in the end you feel forced to put it on.

It's the problem of choice. Sometimes too many choices is not a good thing.

Can't all this data be kept to the websites and wikis?

Dont really care (voted option; i probably wouldnt use it but its not my concern if others choose to), but its the sort of thing id want to be dead last on the "to do" list.
