i think they are already working on spellcasters
the new skill stormcall is just awesome the basecastspeed is 0.5 sec dmg is a bit weaker than shocknova but it can be used on range which makes it a fair trade off manacosts are fair compared with attacks (18 at level 20) yes you still cant leech without gems but its still maintainable without to heavy/unfair investment in passiv nodes all spells should be reworked in that direction caster will be fine (ofc the high amount of ele resi monsters should be looked at as well,every boss except brutus normal has a good amount of resi and cruses work less on them,physical dmg doesnt has to deal with this kind of stuff) but 1 step after another |

I highly doubt spellcaster will get any buff if any till the end of dom, GGG was never very fast at this kind of things (remember how long it took for the spork RF meta to end?) Just don't bother with traditional spell casting right now (this is coming from a RF FP/Spork hybrid back in beta). If you must use spell gems CoC can work. Otherwise just duel wield some pdps weapons with melee splash and call it a day. It will out dps and believe or not out tank whatever spell caster you crank out.

You could increase most of the spell's damage total output by 100% and you'd still end up with casters being shit vs physical melee/bow.
Ethereal knives is the only functional spell now, if only because it's pure physical and has 550 base dps at rank 20. For the record freezing pulse only has 220 ice elemental dps(all endgame mobs have 75-150% resistance). |

Well I've ran a few FP-Shock based chars and they feel really good.
For me, I'm not worried about my tooltip number being less than melee (they shouldnt be comparable considering the differing risks involved with playing the two styles) but I do think spells could do with a few more interesting mechanics to make them feel cooler. The new skill is definitely a step in the right direction. When I play a melee, sure... they shit on spellcasters in terms of raw dps. But then on my spell caster I rarely have to approach thingss cautiously. The OP made a good comment about melee having the upperhand in early levelling. I still level with cleave until the 40's.
