Thorns - a wasted Prefix ?
I'd like to see either some higher numbers on thorns, or some passives that increase the damage reflected. I know reflect builds already exist with the unique item and tempest shield, but thorns itself is really weak and not really worth having on an item.

thorns has been horrible in every game i have ever played it is like an arpg tradition to have this horrible thorns mod that is okay until lvl 10.
but lets not overllook how cool the incedental thorns mods can be on your high level gear when you go back to normal to show your friend how to play and everything just dies when it sees you. i fear a thorns gem. myr was killed by an evil force myr was killed by an evil force myr was killed by an evil force IGN- Isiander

I'd prefer the higher-level thorns mods to add higher flat damage rather than scale to a percentage, or maybe add both as options. That way if you're not being hit hard by a swarm of monsters it won't take them an age to kill themselves on you.

My preference is percentage based, and the percentage reflect is based on the damage you take before armour reductions. That way building a ton of armour with percentage reflect is actually pretty viable. It would be strange for you to have to just stack raw hp with no armour to do a lot of damage with thorns.

Percentage based reflect is the worst idea. If you are able to mitigate all damage, then no reflect would occur. Also it make reflect overpowered against "high dps, low life" mobs, and useless against "low dps, high life" mobs. It would also ruin PvP.
Flat thorns is the best way to go to keep things fair and balanced. The problem right now is the thorns affix stops scaling at level 35. Below that, thorns works good. With some amount of thorns gear, you can have most mobs in normal difficulty kill themselves pretty quickly when attacking you. All we need need is higher thorns affix than level 35. Maybe add an aura that deals 10-20% of your default attack when you take a hit.

Thorns should act like real life thorns and put a bleed effect on any mob that hits you. Bleed would be a weak dot with a short duration but the damage would stack and the duration refresh every time a bleeding mob hits you.

Yes, thornes+life regen should either be changed or removed, no one likes them, any time anyone exalts one of those mods there will be rage.
