This is an ARPG. Not an MMORPG. SOLO IS AN OPTION. They won't add in raids because they aren't meant for single players.

Who says it seriously can't be done on a ARPG? Also I was not asking for huge amount of players, more like max of 12 per raid party or something.
This is why we can't have nice things :( and why people continuously scream for lack of innovation in games, when PoE already oozes out the innovation in an ARPG genre :P

PS. I also know this will be something that will be very hard to achieve and will take a lot of time to make it right...but at this point who doesn't really believe GGG can't do it anymore? :P

To me at least, group maps seem like a nice idea.

Some unique maps with some unique, big ass bosses. Solo already is a possibility for most of the game, why not add an excuse for people to team up (this is where many, many games ultimately fail)?

In fact, I can see a way to spice things up. Imagine for example a giant stationary boss, with let's say two heads (Generic, i know, but for the sake of the example).

The map itself would be divided into two platforms, in each platform a team of six players. Each head would only be target-able from each respective platform.

There are many ways to spice things up for group play, and I ask again, why not? As long as there aren't rewards that are uniquely attributed to that content, I don't see the harm.

There should be some advantages, such as slightly better drop rate, or similar, however, nothing that is unattainable by solo play.

Not only would such mechanics add scope to an already very diverse game, they could be used for story purposes quite well too. And Wraeclast is a world that could benefit from either a great story or some great side stories.

Love these ideas.
I also thought of ones that can be in normal areas, not just (Raid) Maps.
Obviously the area will be small-ish, and there could be level cap on it too.

you can get some scary boss mobs on maps depending which mods you roll on them

This is an A-RPG, meaning: everything should be soloable, yet buffed for groups.

Who knows... they might rise the group size limit someday, I wouldn't expect it though.
Take care out there.

Well considering that max party size is like 6 people, I think it is highly unlikely that you'll ever see 20-man bosses.

Though, if you wanna talk about crazy endgame bosses, anything with 'reflects elemental damage' can get real ugly real fast.

Who said it can't be raised just for the raid boss area/instance?
We just have to wait and see :)

Well, honestly, I don't think the engine could handle 20 or even 12 people at the same time. From what I hear the game chugs pretty badly if even 6 people are spamming spells.

Also could you imagine how bad the visual spam would be?

Which is why I said the area will have to be small-ish size, and there would only be the boss and a couple of his minions anyway. And have you never seen raid boss done solo in other games before? ;D

Yeah I know, but how knows how the future of the game's engine could be?
One can only dream and plan at this point...
