In-game voice chat?

Are there any plans for an in-game voice system or are we gonna have to use ventrilo or other programs outside of the game? I feel that in-game voice promotes team-play among groups of players, prevents general foolishness, and most importantly, makes a game more enjoyable. Of course... with a good in-game voice chat system, you must include a nice, handy mute button as well.

Just something for the devs to consider.

This would certainly be a good idea. I almost always use a third-party voice-chat system (like ventrilo or teamspeak) when I'm playing with friends. However, if I'm jumping in a pick-up game it would be nice to have a better way to communicate than just typing to one another.

So I am also wondering what (if any) in game communication will be in place.

Yea I agree, I have played a lot of DDO where they have in game voice chat and it makes it so much easier to be fighting or running along and speaking to your group to guide them, tell them what enemies to target, warn them of traps etc. Sometimes typing things out can take too long and you cant do other actions at the same time

Just plz make it an easy toggle on or off for those who want to spam RAAAWRRR on the mic

This would actually be a nice feature, definitely not priority.

I think designing a voice chat system with all the bells and whistles would take away from delicious developer time, especially when we have programs like Ventrilo, Mumble or Teamspeak which are already pretty established.

Waste of developer time just like kara said. Everybody has vent, TS, etc.

Yeah I vote for not making it game side all games I've played with built in voice chat have turned out to be a pain in the brain.

If something like this was added, it wouldn't be until well after release.

Yeah, I don't see this being a very "OMG HAVE TO IMPLEMENT THIS NAO!" feature.

I wouldn't mind having it added at some point in the distant future though.
