Seeing as people have managed to get level 26 purity of fire, I would assume so? I can't see any other way they would have managed to do so.

Will try test it out though ingame.

purity of fire is a strenght gem not a fire gem. i don't see the keyword fire in the description of the skill i only see: Aura, Spell, AoE.
anyway finding a good +2 fire skill + 1 local one handed weapon is utopian.

edit: my bad i checked in game and it's listed also as fire skill. was working with my searing touch.
