POE not using Nvidia 630m Graphics Card
I'm having a variation of this issue it seems.
My laptop is a Lenovo E530, it has both Intel HD 4000 and Nvidia 630M graphics. When I run POE with the nvidia card, there is a great amount of horrible, ugly stutter, the different graphics settings don't make any difference what-so-ever. When I play with the Intel HD 4000, the game runs decently on lowest graphics settings. That just doesn't seem right. Any clues what I could try? Thanks |

It has been a while since I've worked on a laptop with a dual video adapter setup, but if my memory serves, this is an issue that can impact more than just PoE. Again, I'm a bit sketchy on the details, but if I recall the problem relates to the nvidia Optimus system ( that manages switching between the two adapters ) , and the nvidia drivers.
This is about the only like I can find at the moment: LINK Hope it helps. "I would have listened... I would have understood!" - Scion
Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet? |

I tried poking around, and by using the Nvidia inspector tool, I was able to delete some bad profiles. Apparently POE detect as Phantasy Online, due to missing resource/metadata in the POE client.exe file. This in itself is silly, as it would be so simple for the devs to fix it.
That and setting the fullscreen mode to "windowed fullscreen" helped a bit, but not enough. The performance is still not good at all with the Nvidia 630M card, where the Intel HD 4000 runs fine (at lowest granted). But it's weird, because the Nvidia has the same bad performance regardless of settings. Not sure where to go look now :-/ |
