Map Editor

i never played neverwinternights but if there is a server list feature(not saying there is) you could scroll through to find maps or type what your looking for, as css did it, you would type in the first sting if you were looking for a normal game or a different string if yout looking for a zombie mod, thats seemed to work well, or it could work like battle.net 2.0 and work with a popularity system(i didnt really like this) or use a hosting system like wc3 only those who know how to host can hose the games they want and if you wanted a certin game hosted you had to ask or find out how to do it yourself(this way worked best imo, untill the bots took over)
i have always liked the mini maps but playing diablo 2 i did like the map that they have there i have not played path of exile yet still waiting for invite but from the videos i like the map they have
well the point of it would be you can play their map and enjoy it, but if you need a change you can mess around with someone elses. it hasnt been done with arpg's why not be the first to introduce it? and at the very least a level designer. so you can get the dnd feel.
This works in FPS's and games where the entire world is an instance. There will already be leagues in PoE which deal with different play styles and rules. Changing the leagues into actual custom servers is unnecessary.

It also makes it far easier to implement cheats. PoE is a competitive ARPG. If you allow anyone to run a server, the competition gets flawed by cheaters, exploiters, etc.

GGG has already decided what kind of game this is.

you dont have much expirence with mods it seems -__-, the point of a map editor is to go beyond the game, if you had every played a mod of an rts game or fps game it doesnt lose its competitiveness it just changes the competitive experience. look up dota its a mod of a wc3 game it created a whole new competitive circuit. hell they even made a song about it. blizzard already decided what kind of game starcraft and warcraft were but they gave us the tools to create our own experience. in wc3 someone even made a diablo 2 and 3 map.
I've played those games, and I've done my own mods on some other games.

I doubt this . Only if they check each and every map to make sure everything is ok .
Try not to waste it .

then why is it every time you post it seems like there was little to no thought put into if if you knew about the wc3 custom maps and sc2 you would have known patching wasnt an issue as you started in a previous post and you would have known that the point of the map is to change the game which you also started in a previous post either research what you "already played" or stop posting. and no im not "mad" im just trying to get actual feedback on the idea and your just whining all the way though.

Because you're unwilling to see the other side of the argument?

Because those games already supported custom servers and mods, but PoE does not. Those games are both RTS's, which don't have persistent worlds like ARPG's and MMO's do. This isn't the type of game where you just join a random server and play a match. You have characters with longevity, a stash full of equipment... How would those carry over to other servers? They would have to be saved locally, which allows for extremely easy cheating. The solution to this would be keeping everyone on the official server and adding custom maps, which would require patches to distribute the content.

Again, you're assuming that allowing custom servers is the way to go for PoE, an ARPG.

At no point in this thread have I whined. I'm stating another view on your topic, showing why I believe it won't work and shouldn't be implemented. That's feedback. Maybe you should research the vast differences between the games you cited and this one.

It is a good idea, but it will never work, not in the way u propose it atleast, if this were to work someone would have to make the maps, and have GGG take em in to their original servers, since any kind of local data availability will lead to hacks and cheats.

Just as there are talented editors out there, so is the talented hackers.
