RMT BOTS SPAM ME EVERY 4-5 MINUTES...
Since i got to lvl 92 they spam me with whispers every 4-5 minute and in rows.. I started to report them for several days ,but im pissed to do that anymore.. GGG . I know u banned all i reported, but this is like fighting forest fire with bucket of water.. U Guys need to change the whispering level to hero level 30 minimum, so the bots dont whisper at all. Many other online games did that already. DO IT NOW. Its fairly easy thing to do, and it can be done in hotfix.. |

What they really need to do is charge $5 to open an account. Refund it on request if a player quits.

" So RMTers can make an account, spam the chat and then get a refund? |

yeah they tend to do that after you buy stuff off of them :P
Maybe I am just lucky but i don't think i have ever been whispered by rmt sellers. |

I'd welcome an option to only get whispers from players who are on my friends list. The suggestion to require a minimum level to whisper players who didn't whisper first, or who don't have the whisperer on the friends list, is also solid.

I disagree with all suggestions. Lets think outside of the box.
Low level whispering isnt good. I just made an alt the other day and was selling items via trade chat and also PMing players for their items. So its not fair to block off the lower levels. Here is a thought, what about this?! Two types of block player: 1) block player 2) block player for RMT spam. 1 just makes it so they cant pm you. Maybe they are a friend IRL that is currently annoying, just for the moment. Maybe they are a trader low balling you and wont stop the PM spam. And so on. 2 makes it so GGG knows why they were blocked- RMT spam. And after so many players blocking this spammer, they have to send an email or pm to request PM rights again. Or however this could play out. Maybe so many blocks sends an alert to GGG. But again...it all goes back to resources, time, employees, and money. Where does GGG want to focus their "man power" that works in their office. Not playing anymore. It was a fun ride since 2013!! Simple option:

That would make a bit of an unfriendly first impression, though. You're trying to whisper a friend who also just started, and the game tells you that you must first spend money before you can communicate. A level requirement for free accounts (bypassed by friends, and through getting whispered first, and not applicable to players who spent x amount of coins in the store) would achieve the same goal without punishing genuinely new players who want to be part of the community.
The core issue isn't whispers from new players. It's the spam from bots who presumably whisper a large number of players within a very short time, using a newly created account that is then immediately ditched again (so reporting achieves little because by the time enough players have pressed enter, right-clicked the name and reported it, quite a few were already spammed). Perhaps limiting how many players you can whisper within a specific period of time (increased by level?) would also be a feasible approach. I imagine that only very few people, and all bots, whisper more than a handful of players within a few minutes. |
