CB vs OB vs Release

What happened to Poe since CB?

I remember planning out your build and theorycrafting your build to lvl 75 on the skilltree on CB. In OB people planned their skilltree already to lvl80, 85 etc.

And now, it is so easy to reach lvl 85+ in just a few days.

Back then your character had its foundation at around lvl 75. And reaching 75 in Hardcore was really not easy at all.

I have died with a lvl80 on Nemesis and wasn't frustrated at all, despite having a 6L. Because i knew I can get to lvl 75 in a heartbeat compared to CB or even OB. I rolled a new char on Nemesis and hit 71 in a few days. And I mostly play solo. I also have aquired a 5L again (lucky I know).

The game has changed so much that it has become much easier to level up.

Imho it has lost the romantic touch that it was a difficult game made by hardcore gamers for hardcore gamers.

TL;DR

Spoiler
PoE has become too easy compared to CB

Alot of it comes down to experience.
Some of it comes down to gear being a bit better (roll-wise).
And ofcourse the fact that more content has been added.

It certainly feels a bit smoother reaching the later levels. I'm a solo self-found player and got a new char to 53 in 1 day. That was playing semi-casually throughout the day. God knows what level could be reached if you sit down and play non-stop for 10 or 12 hours!

The difficulty has shifted from 'being difficult to level', to 'being easier to level but more difficult to survive'.

I think thats a fair assessment.
Just for try for see and for know -2013!

She corpse exploded the corpse of the boss...
some things are easier some not...i liked to trad in cb for example, but its a pain in the ass since mid OB..;P

and ofcourse max area level on nonmap areas was lvl 56, maps were from 60-68. The areas/maps were smaller and the items were less op...

The elements are my allies.
The dead are my servants.
And fear...will be my closest friend.

The longer the game is out, the better people will become at exploiting its weaknesses and maximizing player benefits.

Happy hunting/fishing
after 16 months of playing you surely know the game's ins and outs.

but be assured, others still struggle in mid game.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
No u got better
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Jup, it became easier. Not too easy..YET. But definitly on the common casualize-all-way in my eyes...or I got "better" through experience, dont know.
Think there are much more levelitems than earlier in game, making parts of levelling a joke.

Hope they do not make it easier than it is now.

Surely we got better with the game. That's just natural playing poe, at least in my case, for over 1.5 years, but the overall leveling speed is crazy fast compared to CB. It cannot all be our experience with the game.

I understand that the game maybe was too hard for a larger audience and needed to be easier for release so more people could try it out. I understand that.

But the promised "Hardcore game" it isnt anymore, imho when people can reach lvl 85+ in several days and acquire 5Ls and 6Ls left and right ... that was definately not the case in CB.

There's another factor that has changed : the number of players.

More players = more opportunities to sell and buy items. Having been playing since february/march, i know I'm better at the game, but without trading much, it's still clearly not faceroll and getting 5/6L every hour !! I've even never had a 6-L and haven't drop an exalt in like 6 months...

good Point.
Playing selffound the game is really hard. Perhaps I should try this again, played D3 selffound all the way. Perhaps it is the way to go again.
