I took Iron Reflexes because I simply do not have enough passive points to spare to pick up extra evasion passives. The gear I use leans more towards armor with some evasion on it so I decided to just have it all converted to armor. Since nothing can one hit me, and I prefer to be surrounded by large packs and just face tank them, I believe armor is the best way to go. I'll test out my build without it when I have the time and let you know which I feel is the true way to go.


I previously used sword/shield on my build, but I came to the conclusion that bloodseeker claw offers maximum survivability, and is a MUCH cheaper alternative to the sword/shield version.

Pros and cons of rare sword build vs rare claw build vs bloodseeker build


Rare Sword build:

Higher dps than bloodseeker build
9% less life leech
Life leech is not instant
Looking at 10-20+ exalts for a 300+ physical dps sword


Rare Claw build:

Higher dps than bloodseeker build
less life leech than blood seeker but more than sword version
Life leech is not instant
Looking at 10-20+ exalts for a 300+ physical dps claw


Bloodseeker:

Capped 20% Life leech
Life leech is instant (vaal pact without having to sacrifice flask use+spending the passives to get it)
2-3 exalts for a decent rolled Bloodseeker
Less dps than a rare claw/sword build


So as you can see, the only pro of using a rare sword or claw would be higher dps at the cost of massive survivability and currency. I've come to notice that many people think dps is everything on a build, but really 15-20k dps works just fine if you maximize your survivability.

But. If you are pretty wealthy and can afford to dump 40-50+ Ex on a 6L Oath, 20+ Ex on a rare 300+ phys dps sword/claw, and 20+ Ex on the rest by all means go for it. I just wouldn't suggest this for hardcore, because with the rare weapon setup you can expect to die here and there.

If you can not afford a nice rare sword or claw, you're better off just getting a bloodseeker claw and making it your main objective to get a 6 Link death's oath if you don't have one already.
