Im focusing on more life (356%) , less damage and more defense. Frankly i just want to stay alive :P

The build is easily possible without death's oath, I just use it because I personally like it and everything it has to offer. It may be hard to come by on nemesis, or be rather expensive so I understand your reasoning.

You could also use a carcass jack or just a 5-6 link armor or EV base as well. Just be sure to look for resistances, mana, and +attributes on your gear because you are going to lack intelligence and mana. If you're following the 6 link setup I use it can get mana heavy.

As for your weapon you could go for a high physical dps one handed sword or claw to help boost your dps, or stick with a BloodSeeker claw for the vaal pact mod it offers. You should also still get enough chaos resistance to run blood rage for the extra 6% life leech and obtaining frenzy charges.

I know the bloodseeker does not do the best damage, but it gives you MASSIVE survivability. Basically it's giving you vaal pact but without the downfall of no life regen or use of life flasks.
and as you can see in my claw build version, I am leeching 20% of my life instantly but still being able to use my life flasks in case of emergencies.

Just check out my "Important must haves" section and aim for getting all of those except for the capped chaos resists and death's oath and you should get by just fine.

Your passive tree looks okay, but depending on what weapon route you decide to take, you can remove some life for more damage if your low dps is slowing you down. The build offers lots of survivability regardless. So good luck and just post here or pm me if you need any help/advice.
