I'm actually surprised that this hasn't been talked about more. It means that it is now practical to solo to 100, which is something I'd been requesting for quite a while. Thanks for pointing this out, its a really good change that has gone unnoticed.
In what universe is playing 8 hours a day for 4.5 months to reach max level on one single character practical? The answer is...no universe.

If you don't trust the calculations you can dig up the xp required charts along with the xp penalty charts yourself; the result will be the same if done correctly. The main reason this is viable now is because of the changes to the xp penalty floor of 2%. In other words, this method is more effective the further you go past level 93.
You forgot something though.
The 2% floor also helps out mappers. What you did is to compare old mapper numbers with new non mapper numbers. That not only makes no sense, its outright pointless to do so.

Well getting to 100 isn't supposed to be practical, it's a long term goal really. What his point was more so it's possible to do so without needing to map, even if it's not something you'd want to do!

In no way did I say that you should level to 100 by solely doing Catacombs. I said it is feaseable, and in some parts of the leveling curve, faster than most mapping groups. Unless you have a yolo glass cannon build with 1600 hp and 100+ ex worth of gear, you can obviously do both? Pretty good option for when your mates are offline imo.

121m exp per hour prior to exp penalties sounds unrealistic. You don't get over 3m exp per catacomb (prior to exp penalty) run I think? Which would mean roughly 1.5 minutes per catacomb run D:.

It's possible but is it efficient? No. Of course it's not.
Just like you could technically farm normal ledge for 100.

I wish you luck on farming to 100 without becoming absurdly bored in the process.

It actually doesn't help out mappers as much, as the maps they are running are level 73+ and therefore incur a much smaller penalty. In fact, any map 74+ doesn't benefit from this change at all; not even at level 99.
Nothing is forgotten, your statement is just wrong :)

I have over 60k dps. The xp rate is legit, regardless of what it sounds like. The sample size is over 5-6 hours and it even includes a few trades.

But it is efficient, that's the entire point behind this post.. with enough clearspeed it's actually faster than doing high level maps at a certain point in the leveling curve, namely between 93-100 at some point.
