if it's of any comfort, in singapore, that can't even buy you a piece of paper that lets you own a car for 10 years (ie: certificate of entitlement). those go for about US$60k a pop (varies regularly as its based on an auction process)

10k USD (12.5k SGD) is COE on a VERY, VERY GOOD DAY. Paying ONLY 10k USD to be allowed to pay another 30k USD for a car, is like finding 5 Eternals at Docks. 10k USD is fucking chump change when talking about cars in Sg.

Progression. It's the way of life. It's why I'm happily waiting for another 3-4 years to buy a PS4, because then I'll get the Slim one that's miles better than the Big. All that an early purchase does is, well, let you enjoy it earlier.

Interesting fact, I had no idea about that legislation in Singapore. I guess it's safe to say that's the reason why they have the same car ownership per capita than Venezuela, with more than 4 times the GDP per capita. I'm also surprised about the license renewal legislation, seeing that no renewal is required until the age of 65.
