Does anyone know the 5-link chance...

I agree that we should know the numbers. When I was new I thought the chances were 1/6.

nobody except GGG knows the excact numbers. And they made it easier to get 5links with release so even if someone would have known, it would be incorrect today...
from my expierence...its much easier to get 5links on 6 socket. Using whetstones to make the armor/weapon to 20% quality will increase the chance to get 5links, we dont know the chance so we dont how much increase, but i take a wild guess and say 20%. in cb when i crafted my first chest, i tried to 5link it and got 6links after 250 fusings without getting 5links once (i would have stopped then). shortly after release i used 200 whetstones and 10 Fusings and got the 5links. And yesterday i used 100 fusings without whetstones and didnt get 5links... RNG is and will be RNG The elements are my allies.

well iv tried crafting 5 links a few times
1st time took 70 2nd time to 200 3rd time to 120 IGN: Barbara_Jay

its much easier to link a white one, because you need only 4 Armorscraps or whetstones to make it to 20% instead of 20 for a rare item.
