Path of Exile & Diablo 3 In-Depth comparison, very informative

first post I do here on POE, I haven't been playing for long.

I think PEO is a great game and nothing short of amazing considering the size of the development team versus Diablo 3. And I haven't even started to understand all the customization via gems and the skill tree that's possible yet.

POE has just come out of beta and is looking pretty damn nice. Please remember the pile of junk Diablo 3 was when it was released.

I think it's really lame of Athene to bash such a promising new developer and game and try to steer people to the lamestream game that is Diablo today. I saw him on twitch today playing POE and he didn't seem to have a clue what he was doing. He just copied Kripp's HC build. Not the way to have the most fun. I'm sure spectral throw will see a nerf. So now he's going to start a WW barbarian - that's the same level of OP-ness.

Diablo 3 is a fun game I've spent lots of time on with great dynamic combat, but at the end of the day what sucks about it is that there is almost no personalization and development of your character. Everyone plays the same Monk. Everyone plays the same barb. At most, you can decide between CM wizard and Archon wizard. How is that not onedimensional ?

The Alt-F4-ing out of a HC game is obviously not great, I'm sure they will fix this at some point ? These devs at least talk to the community and are working hard on updates and improvements. The Diablo 3 team is always "thinking about" and "considering" things (like PVP which was promised for release a year and a half ago) but never actually doing anything. Plus because of the console adaptions they try to keep game mechanics super simple.

You don't have to go with Kripp's build in POE, you can go crazy and make your own.

Duping is happening in Diablo too, as is botting, multiboxing, buying gold externally etc.

At the end of the day - play what you enjoy.

I'm enjoying POE more than Diablo right now. and if it's just because I like the development team 100 times better because they are passionate and take risks and the game is more open to let you develop a truly unique character.

This is just the usual trolly athene trying to get people butthurt and mad. And for the record he did not use a mirror nor get a kaoms for free as it was seen in the stream.

I don't like Athene, but I must admit that was kinda funny video LOL

Some people probably agree with you, but Athene himself doesn't. On stream Athene said multiple times that he greatly prefers PoE's method of dealing with hardcore. He thinks D3 would be better if they did the same thing (convert hardcore to softcore on death).
