How do YOU define "pay to win"?

press C.

if it changes anything on that page it is pay to win.
If you can buy a form of advantage over other players that is severe its P2W in a competitive scenario.

Stuff that is questionable is..........

eg. Stash tabs, character slots..... These are small p2w elements but offer a very, very limited advantage. It is really personal perspective on how these controvertial additions are and the effect they have and how to measure the advantage..

But the bottom line is that "ANY" pay 4 advantage is P2W.

People thinking buying stash tabs is pay to win... are wrong in my opinion.

Why? Simply because getting mules accounts is free and gives you access to additional stash tabs.

For me and, it is my understanding, for GGG: being able to purchase anything that gives you an advantage in a game makes it pay to win.

By anything, I mean anything...

Anything that makes you stronger, that makes you progress faster, that makes up for your mistakes, anything.

I dont see how you can write those two things in the same reply and not realise the contradiction. :)

As it has been mentioned earlier, having extra tabs makes you more efficient at the recipe part of the game, which has a direct input leading to you having faster access to creating better items, hence progressing faster.

Have you bought stash tabs yourself?
Anyone who has, should ask themselves why. If the answer is 'its easier/faster/more efficient/gives me better overview' or similar, then you HAVE to realise that according to your own definition its P2W.

Time equals progression, hence anything that saves time would also ensure faster progression.
To me that isnt necessarily P2W, but to you it is.
Anything that offers an obvious gameplay advantage. From the OP, full respec and XP would be included.

Respec because you could do t as much as you wanted on a high lvl char to try different builds where free players have to reroll entirely new. XP is same principal, you get to high level faster, even if it isn't gamebreaking, it is a playing advantage....even if in the long run these are "merely time savers".

Since they changed the vendor recipe for alchs and regals. I don't consider them to be pay2win. Hell, I have 45 pages and won't even bother matching anymore. the amount of effort it would take is so much, that I have better.odds of finding something in that timespan.

This.
Take care out there.

When your argument boils down to "more efficient item storage and organization = P2W" then you know you're grasping at straws.

You would have to the be the saddest, most jealousy-prone individual to cry foul about other players having extra stash tabs. If you ever find yourself saying "You wouldn't have won without those extra stash tabs!" then please, pour grape juice all over your PC and go outside.
so true, given that alchs and regals can be had through mere hard-boiled trading.

In two weeks I've made more in trade (from scratch) than the average new player makes in a month not counting a total trade outlay of about 2 more gcp worth.

Much of my orb wealth was traded for rather than found, save only my exalted and two regals and couple of gcp.

I've made a grand total of 3 chaos orbs using vendor recipes. They do not really matter in the scheme of things except at high, and I mean real high level. the simple recipes I can access are good enough for me atm and they actually contribute to a minimum of my income.

It might seem less to some hard boiled players, since I'm going through the content slow, but I do make more than enough to cover my outlay and I know my ratios well to.
