100% Reduced Mana Reservation
" Mortal Conviction and the Reduced Mana support gem are true multipliers, they do not "add" together with the pool of "reduced mana reserved abilities" like Alpha Howl and Prism Guardian do. Also, the quality bonus on Reduced Mana does not apply to auras. And I don't see how you're going to going to link Reduced Mana to THREE aura gems inside of a Prisim Guardian. Sorry to burst your bubble. IGN: Totemofo

" wrong, reduced mana gem and mortal conviction are multipliers, so it would be: Prism Guardian = -25% mana reserve Reduce mana support gem = *71% mana reserve Mortal Conviction = *60% mana reserve Alpha's Howl = -8% mana reserve reduced reservation from passive = -46% (100-46-25-8)% *.71 *.6 = 8.946% which turns a 60% aura to 5.37% Master 8: All

Math time!
EDIT: Fixed some issues with passives. Mortal: 40% Reduced Mana: 29% Alpha's Howl + Passives: 54% Prism Guardian + Alpha's Howl + Passives = 79% Let's say you place 2 60% auras + reduced mana in Prism's Guardian. 0.6*0.71 = 0.426 which gets rounded to 43% 0.43*0.6*0.21 = 0.0.5418 which gets round to 6% 0.06*2 = 0.12 So running 2 60% auras in prism guardian will eat up 12% of your life. Not too bad, although not great. Any additional 60% auras will take up more life. 0.43*0.6*0.46=0.11868 => 12% life/aura And the math for 40% auras: 0.4*0.71 = 0.284 => 29% 0.29*0.6*0.46 = 0.08004 => 9% life/aura Maximum number of auras possible: 9%*5 = 45% (Purity of Elements/Ice/Fire/Lightning, Vitality) 6%*2 in Prism Guardian = 12% (any 2 60%) 12%*3 elsewhere = 36% (any 3 60%) Clarity* ~=~ 2% *(440*0.71=312.4=>313; 313*0.6*0.46=86.388=>87 which would probably be around 2% of 4350 life) For a total of 11 auras at just around 95% life reserved. Of course, your survivability would be quite atrocious in this case. I would say to only run the "essential" auras. Of course which ones are essential is dependent on your group, but I would say that in general, good ones to use are Determination, Grace, Hatred, and Clarity. Second tier auras would be the Purity auras. If you were to run all of these 8 auras you would end up with 62% life reserved, a much more manageable (although still quite dangerous) amount. I believe you would need a Kaom's Heart (preferably legacy) in order to be able to survive with that much reserved life. On the plus side you would be completely capped on resists from your passives and auras alone. In fact, you could probably drop Purity of Elements, for two reasons. One, it probably won't benefit anyone in your group as they will likely already be capped on resists. You still have Purity of Ice/Fire/Lightning to help those who don't/to help against Elemental Weakness maps. Second, it won't benefit you because between the 3 other Purity auras, your passives, and your gear you will probably be overcapped as well, unless you decide to run double Andavarius or something like that. (Seriously, you get over 100% free resists to each element) If you take that out then you are at a mere 53% life reserved. With the passive tree I gave (214% increased life) it is easily possible for you to reach over 6k life with a non-legacy Kaom's (8.5k with a legacy one). That means you'd have around 3k non-reserved life; coupled with the insane armor from Iron Reflexes, Grace, Determination, 78% increased effect of auras, and 24% increased buff effects, you'd be reasonably survivable. Of course, the cost of Kaom's is quite high, and I don't think this build would be incredibly viable without it unless you sacrificed several auras, at which point you may as well not be an auramancer. hahaha, yup my bubble burst!sorry didn't get that the passive skills & the reduce mana gems are multipliers, it didn't mentions on wiki, nywy it's still a gamble getting all that just to reduce your aura to the maximum possible.
i think having reduce mana gems is enough & stack up with leech or regen or both. not all aura is good enough for the reserves or even for the passive points. thanks for the clarifications |

im interested in the synergy between prism shield and alpha howl for the sake of a low life build
(for my sporker) im not sure on the math though, could I use say a purity and clarity with reduced mana and get low life? obviously id not be taking the blood magic passive and the reduced reserve next to it. this means id not be able to take a spell damage/crit shield would it be worth it? how many reserved nodes would i need to take? the other way id hit low life would be a BM gem/reduced manna/purity combo and id still want to use alpha howl for mana auras. ideally id like to use haste, clarity, discipline, grace and a purity is that even possible with out taking BM passive and the manna reseved near it? |

There's a calculator here: http://fogz.mine.nu:8080/poe_reserved_calc/
I'm sorry I can't give credit for it since I don't remember who posted it here on the forums. |

thanks ill try that now

ok just looked at that but it doesnt take into account the uniques or clarities flat reserve so its not really that helpful thanks any way though.

The unique's reduced mana reserved act like the passives as in they're not multiplicative. So just add 8% reduced mana reserved from skilltree for Alpha's Howl.

thats easy enough. is it the same with prism shield too? i.e. 16% from passives 8% from AH and 25% from shield would mean -49% for gems in the shield? If so thats powerful wouldnt even need a reduced mana in the shield and could run 3 auras in it (60x2 40x1) making it easy to run 1 60% and clarity on mana nice.
would mean I need to give this up though
Spoiler
thats a good chunk of my spork dps on that shield do you think its worth it to be able to run 5 auras in place of 3? the extras being haste and grace so ill get dps back from haste and more surivability for me and my meat shields (I use unspecd summons to support my spork) |
