The Purity / New Elemental Aura Changes

when a game is better in beta than release, you know something is wrong lol

Should have made those auras cost 30% or 25% instead of 40%.

GGG seems to despise having capped resistances and evem more getting over the 75% resist cap, with this change and making Prismatic Rings craft only.

Purity was so popular because when the stupid - resists per difficult was added many people simply couldnt find proper gear and it helped immensely with this issue.The resists you can get from the passive tree are simply not enough ,even if you specifically go for them.

But now forcing you into specific resists auras makes group play a complete no brainer.



I guess the idea (same as with the 60% aura changes) was to make auras more situational,so that you swap out auras depending on the situation you are facing.But this only applies to solo players,full parties couldnt care less.

I'll definitely be dumping Purity now as soon as I can rearrange my gear to max out without it. They're basically deleting the aura, since no one is going to use it if they can at all help it. Once you max out your resists it has zero value, unlike all the other auras.

On the other hand, my character might get buffed a little if the +max on the individual ones is higher. Losing 3% fire/cold resist will hurt a bit, but extra lightning resist would probably more than make up for it with my Lightning Coil.

so they nerf purity into the ground then make uber hard spell bosses who can 1 hit almost any char?

Where is the announcement about this?

I kinda miss my 6L lightning coil now...
Anyhow with reduced mana gem and some nodes you can easily run 3 of them and be free to get rings/amulets/armors without resistances. gearing up for maps just became easier.

this patch is called should be renamed path of kill the solo player once and for good!

Developers seem to want to keep people from breaking their game, but in doing so are breaking it for the people who were playing it right to begin with. Such a shame.
