Dexterity Vs Strength

(You cant evade) #2, Blind isnt a static 75% chance to miss, It reduces the attackers chance to hit. So if you had 50% evasion (They have 50% chance to hit), then they have a 12.5% chance to hit when blinded. If your using armor, without unwavering, then while it is shockingly effective (If you have a 95% chance to be hit, blind reduces that to %23.75) It doesnt really diminish the value very much (Your still getting hit about half as often, or less with acrobatics, with evasion vs armor, as well as acrobatics giving spell dodge, and ondar's guile being what it is) Also, the two by far more common ways to apply blind (There's a wand called moon sorrow that gives blind on hit) are Blind and Smoke Mine, Both of which are in most cases only possible to apply to small groups, and hence the value of evasion and its special passives (Ondar's guile, good luck applying blind to those machine gun girls in lunaris while killing the hordes of melee mobs) Last edited by ScarletDevil#2228 on Nov 10, 2013, 6:28:09 PM

" And I always say to you that's a ridiculously broken concept. @OP: Evasion isn't RNG. Go read mechanics. IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir

" Well, both offer advantages, but I think you listed more for armor then there currently are. Bear trap is one single mob in the entire game...sure you could say pvp, but let's be honest, very few will really care about that... Bleed is a concern, but you also dodge a large portion of them, same with viper strikes, etc so you'll probably take less damage over time. Armor doesn't mitigate spells at all...but evasion does (in the form of phase acrobatics). Also, most eva users are going into guile so they'll take significantly less (nearly 0) damage from projectile attacks. In the end, they both have their good points...and only by playing both can you actually see them. |

Well, in my opinion he is kinda right about dexterity vs. strength and the boni these two stats give. But the same also applies to the int-energy shield bonus.
It just doesn't do enough (mostly nothing) for those not specialised in this kind of defense. Unlike strength, which will just not affect those using CI. The strength damage bonus can be easily applied to other skills via support gems, if wanted/needed. But a character with armor or energy shield as main defense has almost nothing from dex save for a grace aura from a party member. An energy shield based spellcaster witch with a dex node does get absolutely nothing out of that node. Well, there are alot of good support gems which need dex, but the passive boni of the stats themself are just non existent for this kind of character. Besides: The accuracy rating isn't really good either. It is nice to have, but on a level 50+ char with 260+ dexterity you might think, they would have a higher hit rating than 85% without additional accuracy nodes. Strength passive boni just seem so much better in general. |
