Curse removal flask does not work any more
Ok. Boy do I feel stupid.
I didn't quite test everything (was not in the mood), but with granite, quartz, jade, ruby flasks, the 2ndary effects last. Also tested speed-flask, but have feeling that there are some oddities there as well. (And of course, cannot run 2 flasks of same type, or same secondary, at the same time.) But at full mana, the mana-flasks might as well be filled with donkey-spit. Assume same thing for life-flasks. Well, in retrospect, that explains a lot, I guess. I mean I "saw" it, but since it made no sense, I just never actually registered what I was looking at. Shrug. Was ignoring 2ndary flask effects as being underpowered through the game mechanics: instead they were just not doing anything... which is kind of the same thing ^.^ I was, also, blaming my terrible latency (with often appearing invulnerable hug-monkeys/ spiders/ etc, not being able to move sometimes (despite stun-immunity & no freeze), and the like) for all sorts of things! Only now that I specifically got what I thought was a good curse-immunity flask (long duration mana flask), and wanted to use it, did the problem come out. Hah hah! [Crazy giggle] So some lawyer-like dude somewhere decided that "flask-effect" is defined as the journey of getting you --TO-- max-health/mana, and not as the actual logical mechanic of supplying you with x-something per second? Like the other flasks do? Ah, guess they do not "supply", they "do". Or something. Nice [sarcasticly]. Guess I could turn off auras, and then use my nice mana-flask as part of running-the-crap-away-sequence... meh. But, maybe, the damned descriptions should be changed for life/mana flasks. Just saying. It really is not obvious the way things are now: I may be a noob, but I'm not utterly stupid - and this is wrong: it feels like dealing with gov bureaucracy - leave your brain at home, lie back, and accept what happens next as being good and right. Meh. Anyway, I'm off. Tx for responses. IGN: AngelicWitchy - CET+2

Flasks work the way they do in order to stop preloading healing/mana *before* the fight begins.

And what would be bad about that? Flask effects don't last very long, so if you want to waste seconds of flask effects on full health/mana, why not let people? It's not going to make you immortal and wasting seconds of flask effect is a clear downside.
So either change flasks to be more useful, or fix the description to properly show what flasks do. The current descriptions are just misleading. A flask that currently states: "Recovers 1260 mana over 14 seconds" should instead read: "Recovers 1260 mana over 14 seconds, or until mana is full Cause for a pretty long time I thought I'd be getting 14 seconds of continues mana recovery. Because I run two auras and have very little mana, it took me a while to realise that mana flasks are almost entirely useless for that kind of build; if I don't attack I get to full mana in about 2 seconds, the other 12 seconds of effect I guess just disappear into the ether. It would completely remove any micro management of flask from the game if they changed it, it would make it much easier to sustain through fights, all combat would have to be balanced around the assumption that the player is always under the influence of a flask or else the combat will be too easy etc.

If Flasks didn't end when you hit 100% Life, you can easily get permanent 100% Increased Armour, 100% Increased Evasion Rating, Curse Immunity and Movespeed, simply by getting Saturated Hallowed Life Flasks with these mods; they last like 11 seconds.
Another fun one is the Divination Distillate. Hello, permanent Elemental immunity (an additional 6% maxres easily lets you hit 100%) and ~50% IIR/20% IIQ. I'll take that, thank you very much. That not enough? Get the three Flask Effect nodes to boost all those effects by 30%. The healing alone is much more potent than you seem to believe in the first place ('wasting healing' isn't important when your Flasks are permanent), but there's also so much more to Flasks... It would be utterly and completely broken. -------- For Mana Flasks, you can simply get a weaker one. As long as it matches your consumption you'll be getting the most out of the flask. Ezpz. |

Aight, didn't take all the additional effects into account.
Fine. Then the flask descriptions need to be fixed. |
