Highest Theoretical Attack Speed [60.29] (updated)

So, I just spent the past while seeing if I could figure out what the highest conceivable, game-breaking attack speed is.

That number is 60.29 attacks/second (so far anyway. thanks for the double strike suggestion, missed that one haha)

And no, this isn't even using a quill rain, that's too main-stream (and ended up with only 22.95).

Paragon's Jeweled Foil of Celebration is where its at.

It has a base attack speed of 1.7 with it being increased by 27%.
This gives us a base attack speed of 2.16
We also have +1 to gem level.
We will dual wield these of course.


This passive tree uses 118 points.
Our character is level 100.
Bandit quest choices were +1 skill, 8% attack speed, and +1 frenzy charge

The skill tree gives:
123% increased attack speed
12% increased melee attack speed
48% increased attack speed while dual wielding
28% increased sword attack speed
20% increased one-handed melee attack speed

Add 8% bandit attack speed to that, and we get:
239% increased attack speed

Also +3 frenzy charges from the tree, +1 from bandit, and +1 from Darkray Vectors

We are using the following skills, all 20% quality:
Double Strike
Faster Attacks
Blood Magic
Culling Strike
Multistrike
Empower
---
Blood Rage
Empower
---
Frenzy
---
Haste

Note that Empower and +1 gem lvl are only being used on gems that have known increase rates

Our gear that gives us IAS is:
Death's Oath - 15%
High IAS Gloves - 16%
Two High IAS Rings - 14%
Devoto's Devotion - 16%

These give us 61% increased attack speed

Add that to our IAS so far, and we have 300% IAS

Now, we're going to use Blood Rage at low life!
It will be linked with Empower, while they both rest on one of our +1 gem swords
This gives us a lvl 24 Blood Rage, that with 20% Quality gives 58% IAS on low life

Add that to our IAS so far, and we have 358% IAS

Now, lets peacefully sit in somebody else's Haste Aura because we have no skill points to make it awesome.
They have all skills that increase the effect of auras cast.
Lvl 20 Haste is 16% IAS. This is boosted by 78% from their skills, giving Haste 28% IAS

Add that to our IAS so far, and we have 386% IAS

Lets grab some frenzy charges before we do our main attack though.
5% IAS per charge with 8 charges is 40% IAS

Add that to our IAS so far, and we have 426% IAS

Now for the skill we will actually be using.
Double Strike! (EDIT: Somehow I forgot completely about this haha, thanks all)
It essentially gives 100% more attack speed, since it attacks twice in the time of one.
It is also 20% Quality, giving us 10% IAS

Add that to our IAS so far, and we have 436% IAS

The first support is Faster Attacks (lvl 20, 20%, +2 lvl) giving us 56% IAS

Add that to our IAS so far, and we have 482% IAS

The second support is Blood Magic. With 20% quality it gives us 15% IAS on low life

Add that to our IAS so far, and we have 497% IAS

The third support is Culling Strike. With 20% quality, it gives us 10% IAS

Add that to our IAS so far, and we have 507% IAS

The fourth support is Multistrike. With +2 to gem level, it gives 109% more attack speed.

Doesn't go into IAS, will be added shortly

The fifth support is Empower. Its done its thing already.



Ok, so now here is what we have.
2.16 base attack speed
10% more attack speed from dual wielding
109% more attack speed from multistrike
100% more attack speed from double strike
507% increased attack speed

Leaving us with 2.16 * 1.1 * 2.09 * 2 * 6.07 = 60.29 attacks per second

Well, that was probably a waste of my past 3 hours.
Who does math anyway? (I had 23 seperate calculator windows open by the time I was done)

Anyway, hope you all found that interesting. Somebody do this, it would be insane.

If you can find any possible way to increase the attack speed further (more efficient skill tree for instance) please feel free to point it out. I would hate for this to not actually be the highest possible attack speed.

Even at 10 APS with doublestrike the animations look completely retarded, I can't imagine at 37.

You cant dual wield bows but a quill rain hase an base attackspeed of 3,11.

Wouldnt the faster base make up for the loss of some %?

Brilliant. I modified Chicken Nugget's original equation to account for this (you lose 19% IAS per frenzy charge since you aren't using Frenzy as a skill, but gain 10% IAS due to DS quality):

2.16 * 1.1 * 2.09 * 6.17 * 2 = 61.2784656 strikes per second

EDIT: Forgot to factor in DS quality

EDIT2:

It occurred to me Cyclone already strikes twice per attack and has increased attack speed per level on top of that. So, Cyclone should theoretically produce more strikes (but less hilarious-looking results):

2.16 * 1.1 * 2.09 * 6.45 * 2 = 64.059336 strikes per second

EDIT4:
Based on Chicken_Nugget's equation as of this edit, using a level 20 (+2 from Empower) Cyclone instead of Double Strike would yield
2.16 * 1.1 * 2.09 * 6.39 * 2 = 63.4634352 strikes per second

Try dominating blow with a hast totem/rare mob. It should stack with your aura, but I dont know how much ias it gives
