Yeah, No.

It does grant resistance to elemental damage.

ya sorry i was wrong, not ashamed to admit that. i reread the mechanics tread again and yes u are right.
Damage ruduction from armor displayed on your stats is an estimation, and the harder you are hit the less it actually reduces, making health very important.

My question is, are the 5% from endurance charges actually always 5% or is it an estimation as well.

Example: I have 70% damage reduction, with 4 charges it displays as 90%

If I go attack brutus (very high physical damage) with no charges (70% reduction) he hits like a truck. This is because I am not reducing his damage by even close to 70%. Would the +20% from my charges then help a lot if they are a full 20% instead of a max of 20%?
As I understand it...

Yes. Endurance charges work like armor used to. A straight damage reduction.

So one endurance charge of +5% damage reduction wont actually reduce 5% physical damage against a really hard hitting mob, it will reduce less?

One person in game assured me Endurance charges are a fixed 5% each making them much more effective than armor.

He said the opposite... Yes, Endurance Charges reduce in absolute value
so even at say level 80 are kaom's rings still the best choice?
